• Attention getter (hook) – A modern-day incarnation of slavery in the United States is human trafficking.
• Define terms – Victims of human trafficking frequently experience physical and psychological torture, rape, threats against themselves and their families, passport theft, and even death.
• Tensioned Thesis – With more knowledge of the problem, the government can put a stop to it in the United States.
• Transitional sentence: The fact that so many people are helpless to exploitation is not the only reason why there is human trafficking. Instead, the need for low-cost labor, services, and commercial sex is what drives human trafficking. …show more content…

Human trafficking poses a multifaceted concern since it denies individuals their human rights and freedoms, puts the world's health at risk, and encourages the expansion of organized crime.
Who? Everyone can become a victim of human trafficking, regardless of their racial background, national origin, disability, religion, age, gender, sexual preference, or citizenship status.
Where? The state of California, Texas, Florida, and New York are the most sought-after locations for human trafficking because of its robust economy and substantial immigrant population. Furthermore, in other states, human trafficking is expanding quickly. People of poverty, the homeless, runaway children, persons with mental illnesses, populations of immigrants and undocumented workers, people from minority groups, and those with low socioeconomic standing are some of the vulnerable people in the United States and other countries.
What? The second-most lucrative criminal activity in the United States today is human trafficking. The illegal human trafficking market is worth billions of dollars worldwide.
Most studies on human trafficking in the media contend that it has primarily been portrayed as a criminal issue. Although the United States first encountered human trafficking as a human rights issue, the TVPA's passage ushered in the criminal justice framing in the …show more content…

Topic Sentence – Over the past ten years there has been a growing understanding of the necessity of an efficient, globally coordinated response in stopping human trafficking.

When? No nation has yet been able to assert that it has had meaningful, in-depth experience dealing with trafficking as a criminal phenomenon. The majority are creating and modifying their solutions while they are on the go, frequently while facing intense political pressure, and primarily through trial and error.
How? Possessing federal legislation that protects victims of trafficking and prosecutes offenders harshly within the United States is how the 2000 Victims of Trafficking and Violence Protection Act affected society. The federal and state governments are attempting to put an end to this horrifying and terrible epidemic, but if we are to properly safeguard children, parents MUST be involved.
Gloss over: “Why are you telling me this” Only by involving the federal, state, and local governments can human trafficking be stopped.
