I believe at the core of the teacher I am today, is the humanism approach referred to by Laura Zucca-Scott. In my classroom, I am able to offer a humanistic approach and create an ideal learning environment for each and every one of my students. This learning environment may look a little different for each student but the differentiation is the key to building individual relationships with students. Laura states “educational choices are feasible when goals and benchmarks are part of a flexible system in which variations and individual differences are to be expected and encouraged.” She goes on to discuss scripted curricula and the lack of interactions between teacher and student. MHP answered MHS and Antazia questions about the goals and interventions. MHP answered Antazia questions about kinship care and updates from her DSS worker. MHP progress and role-play different ways to communicate with school officials.
Build positive relationships with students will help establish a more comfortable classroom environment. Michie have put a great amount of effort at trying to get to know his students on a more personal level, such as through individual home visiting and personal questionnaires about each student’s likes and dislikes about school. In order for students to feel that the information is relevant to them, teachers should make connections and relate to real life examples. Michie uses his past classroom experiences to connect to his students and further sparks class discussion. Michie would try to relate to what the students were going through in their lives to get to know them better.
Positive Behavioral Support System is a systematic approach to proactive behavior support in schools, to help school improvement and student learning (Sailor, Stowe, Turnbull III & Kleinhammer-Tramill , 2006). When you have a positive action to a child misbehaving, the action you take will affect him positively very much whether the child is in elementary school or in high school. It will affect every student in any grade level. We can effectively teach a good behavior to all students with our behavior. All children can exhibit appropriate behavior.
The teacher should make sure that each student is involved in the lesson, ask process questions, open-ended questions, be patient when waiting for answers to these questions, and ultimately never say anything a kid can say. In teaching you shouldn’t individualize instruction based on each student, you should differentiate instruction. What I mean about differentiating instruction is that if you have a classroom from either various backgrounds, students with learning or intellectual disabilities, language impairments, english language learners, or gifted, etc it would be helpful to group students from different skills so each student can learn something different. Nevertheless, while I was observing the teacher would have the students sit in a circle and he would review the lesson that they studied the day before as a group. An example of the types of lessons would be the following; alphabets, the colors of the rainbow, and the article in grammar,etc. Learning as a group helped the students learn differently.

Holistic teaching focuses on preparing the learner to meet any challenges they may face in life and within a work setting. They can learn about themselves, develop resilience and develop social and emotional development. A learner who feels confident and valued will be more able to absorb new knowledge and apply to real work settings and is more likely to continue their studies when they see it affecting them in a meaningful way. If as an assessor you are mindful to the learner as an individual and take into account their learning style and abilities it aids you in tailoring your teaching manner and methods that give all the best chance of success.
