First, to the those who have made this night possible. I, and all the other graduates sitting here tonight would like to thank the Winton Woods High School Administration, Counselors, Teachers, as well as those from around the district, including the Winton Woods School District Board of Education and Superintendent for the countless nights that they invested in us over the past 13 years. While many times it felt like you were being unreasonable and much harder than necessary, we can see now, your persistent nature was borne from your unadulterated passion to ameliorate our lives for decades to come. Second, on behalf of the Winton Woods Class of 2017, we would all like to extend our deepest appreciation to the friends and family in attendance tonight. Your selfless effort to get us to where we are, and make us who we are, remains our greatest asset in ensuring a successful future. Your drive to make sure that your child had everything they needed to be a success …show more content…
We have all traveled immensely different paths to get to this point in our lives; some speckled with good fortune and some darkened by tragedy, but nonetheless, each and every one of us have achieved something here tonight that should undoubtedly be celebrated. The diploma you receive tonight will be a token for the hard work you have put it. But remember this, receiving your diploma is not the destination, rather it is a milestone on your educational journey. Education is not a right for so many young people around the world, and so I encourage all of you to try and comprehend just how lucky we have all been over the years. We have been gifted by those who surround us tonight with an advantage for what is to come that is more powerful than anything any of us has ever possessed before. As Ralph Waldo Emerson told us, “Man does believe in the power of education”, but he should, for “there is no knowledge that is not
The title of the most ‘Disorganized, Sporadically Planned, Disaster of an Event of the 2016-2017 School Year,’ must sadly be granted the 2016-17 National Honor Society Induction Ceremony. As a brand new National Honor Society Inductee, I was honored with the chance to attend this prestigious event and found myself leaving dissatisfied and disillusioned. The National Honor Society is a well-respected and important organization in the academic community, one that students work hard to achieve enrollment in and colleges view with respect and admiration. The Induction Ceremony is meant to honor these students dedication and scholastic work ethic and pay homage to the Honor students that have come before us. I had much been looking forward the event as a way to show my family how much effort I have poured into my highschool career.
Hello, Singh. How are you doing? How was your night? I hope you had a restful night and a splendid and safe day. About your message from yesterday, I told you that I read it slowly and paying too much attention in every word you wrote.
Please accept my sincerest congratulations on winning the 2016 “Tennessee Teacher of the Year Award.” I am very proud of you. Being recognized for this incredible honor is indicative of the high-quality teachers throughout the Kingsport City School System who serve the students each and every day and ensuring their success not only in the classroom, but also in life. I commend you for the enormous impact you have on your students through your tireless and steadfast commitment and your exceptional teaching. I am quite confident you have truly made a difference by inspiring and assisting many students to grow emotionally and academically, and I know you have left an imprint forever in their hearts.
Each year, Graduation Rites, Commencement Exercises, Moving Up Ceremonies (whatever you may call them) bring profound joy not only to the students but most of all to the parents and guardians who are always working hard to provide for their children the best catholic education. St. John Bosco Academy has given to our beloved country and to the Universal Church graduates who have been formed and taught in a Christian way, who continue to bring honor to this Institution, and who are still standing tall in the society making St. John Bosco proud. To you, dear students, it is always great to have someone to look up to. Being students of St. John Bosco Academy, I presume you have known our very own St. John Bosco like you know your best friend.
Even though it went by quickly for you, it felt like an eternity for us, until we got onto this stage today. I remember watching this ceremony as a fifth grader, and never knowing how quickly we would be on the same stage. Now we are on stage, graduating as 8th graders to continue our education onto high school and eventually college. After walking out of those doors tonight, we will begin a new chapter in our lives.
I wish to thank everyone for coming out here today: proud parents and grandparents, friends, faculty, maybe some highly confused great grandparents, and a whole lot of hung over college kids. I realize that being asked to speak at commencement is not only a great honor, but also a task that brings with it a certain amount of responsibility. I have racked my brain and heart prior to coming before you today, wanting to say something that was real, something that would actually hold true meaning to the Hobart and William Smith class of 2017; my classmates, my future colleagues and connections, my friends. I figured, why not start with the truth? I did not plan on attending Hobart and William Smith Colleges; in fact it was not really on my radar
Permit me to adopt the protocol that has already been established. It is indeed my honor, and on behalf of the Board of Governors to welcome you to the x graduation ceremony of Sir Arthur Lewis Community College. You have anticipated this day with varying emotions; some of you are excited, some anxious and others simply relieved! Irrespective of the emotions stirred within you, you will all agree that today will evoke a sense of pride, a sense of purpose and accomplishment.
Emerson is stating that when the people have the knowledge humans want to know how to keep and continue to learn and grow in education. Also, that other people are not going to make fun of that person because that person does not know how to do the simple goods of a job. Likewise, some people have the ability to the job but might not be equipped with the knowledge of how the job that is being told of that person to do. However, some people just need the extra help to get the job done. To end, some people do not want to have the ability to learn or get the education that will help the people understand what is happening in the world around the
Which for the younger generation of the family, my generation, schooling is top priority. They are always there to lend a hand to the best of their abilities to see us succeed. I am taking this very seriously and I am not going to let them down. They have come way too far and fought too hard for me to disappoint them. Education is very important to me.
Eacher person wants to a contributor to society and that is only possible through knowledge. A person’s mind can hold endless amounts of ideas or thoughts; there is no limit. Education is taken so seriously in America because “the free exploring mind of the individual human is the most valuable thing in
Good evening, we have recently experienced the death of a young man in high school. Matthew was born on July 23, 2002. He moved all around the country and settled into Phoenix, Arizona for high school. He attended Brophy college prep, until his death. He was kind and generous.
Ladies and gentlemen, Ron, or Ronald Kenneth Junni to give him his Sunday name, but most just knew him as Ron, so that’s what I’ll call him today. Ron was a man with a strong character, and tenacious with it, and quite prepared to fight for the things he wanted in life. He had a few opinions along the way, if we’re honest, but at least you always knew where you stood, what you saw was most definitely that you got with Ron. Ron was a proud family man, and a good husband of almost fifty years, and this father of one, grandfather of four, and great-grandfather to two, had a great sense of humour, and would regularly have them all laughing with his funny stories.
This is to ask you let me apologize. I'm not sure it is ok to do so here, but let me just at least write a sorry to you (and explanations and hopes, I know it might be just annoying but wished to share). I'm very sorry about last night and same past events which I think awful to everyone on the site. I'm sorry to scared you and made you feel sick. And for the past events.
I would like to make a toast to my parents, I want to start by thanking them for all that they have done for me. I can say without a doubt that they have made me into the person I am today. I can’t thank them enough for taking me to dance, gymnastics, softball, baseball and 4-H practices. A huge thanks goes to my mom because I don’t know how she managed to care for me and my brother or keep the house up and work all while my dad was over seas. People say that my Dad is a hero and he is, but Mom your superwoman.
I miss you everyday. The thought of you not being here with us any more hurts me more than I can say. However, I know that you are at peace now with family that have pass on prior. I want you to know that I am a wiser and better person because of you and will always think of you when I see something funny that I know you would laugh about and continue to remember the good times we spent together as a family. I am not going to say goodbye so until we see each other
