The purpose of this report is to give a flavor of the importance of hybrid vehicles and their effect on our environment, in order to persuade the company to start changing from conventional fuel to hybrid vehicles. The document highlights the history, working mechanisms, costs, safety, and advantages and disadvantages of hybrid vehicles, in addition to comparing them with the conventional fuel vehicles. Hybrid vehicles are vehicles running on two sources of power which can be diesel-electric in term of trains, gasoline-electric for cars or nuclear-electric in submarines. Hybrid cars work by combining a combustion engine with an electric motor to start and drive the car to a certain speed, when the electric motor runs out of battery or a need arises for …show more content…

Thus, stopping the electrical current from flowing. As for everything in our world, hybrid cars have advantages and disadvantages that will be illustrated below. Light materials play a main role in making hybrid vehicles to produce less energy when running. Having a smaller and lighter engine also saves much energy. Hybrid vehicles provide noise control by eliminating the engine’s sound to a very low level that you can hardly hear. One great advantage of hybrid vehicles is the battery which regenerates itself, whenever the driver brakes, the energy produced is harnessed and used to provide energy to the battery. Hybrid cars are less powerful in terms of acceleration than conventional cars, as they use electricity to start and move, then gasoline to reach higher speeds. Thus, the gasoline engine on hybrid cars is much smaller than it is on conventional cars. Hybrid cars are 25% more expensive than conventional cars, this is due to the advanced technologies implemented in hybrid cars that provide cost-effective efficient
