A hybrid electric vehicle is defined as the vehicle with two or more sources to drive the vehicle. The sources may be diesel, electricity, gas, etc. The hybrid vehicle contains rechargeable batteries which can be recharged when necessary with the help of the electric source externally. Now-a-days, rapid changes and advancement in the motor drive and energy storage technology increases the production of plugin hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV). The proposed topology is used for on-board chargers of the batteries.AC-DC converter with power factor correction fed with the isolated dc-dc high frequency transformer converter is used as the main component for on -board charger in PHEV. In order to store energy for the electric traction system PHEV employ a high voltage battery which consists of high energy density. AC-DC converter is used for power factor correction also to enhance the input current and to hold the DC bus voltage. Isolated DC-DC converter is used give isolation in the circuit. Generally a high voltage battery used for powering the hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) has high density such that it can store energy in a way to drive electric traction system. Power factor correction helps in improving the input current quality and the dc voltage regulation. DC-DC converter is helpful in charging the high voltage pack. It also isolates the utility mains from the traction battery pack. The charge of the resonant capacitor must be satisfied. This is carried out by hybrid PWM
