Abstract This report investigates the use of water to produce electricity; it firstly discusses the main theories and principles that have to be applied in order to create an efficient hydro power station. The report also discusses a design proposal for a miniature hydro power station which has to be designed in such a way that it meets certain requirements. Using MATLAB simulations, it was found that the proposed design will be able to meet the minimum requirements and produce a fair amount of electricity. It is

The magnets will be glued on to the rod in a circular pattern with alternating poles, such that they rotate with the rod. Two nails will be hammered in to a 20cm plank and then wrapped with insulating tape, and the 300 turns of wire will be made around each of them. The rod and magnet system will be placed in the middle of the nails, such that the nails are on opposite sides of the magnets. The generator is shown in figure 2, where A is the wooden rod from the turbine, B is the nail with the coil wrapped around it, C is the magnet system and D is the wooden plank. 4. Analysis
When the system is simulated in MATLAB, it is found that the maximum EMF that can be produced is 2.45 volts, the other relevant calculations of the system are shown appendix A, which is a MATLAB simulation of the results. Figure 3 shows the EMF as a function of time Figure 3: voltage as a function of time for the generator
The flow chart in figure 4 shows the energy conversion that takes place in a generator, whereby mechanical energy is converted into electrical

Environmental, economic and social impacts
The proposed design of the hydro power station requires a large amount of water to generate only a small amount of electricity, this means that it will be expensive to produce hydroelectricity in areas that are far from water sources like rivers, lakes and streams [3]. Hydroelectricity is much cleaner and safer to produce because it does not emit any dangerous greenhouse gases into the atmosphere and also due to the fact that it is a renewable energy source.
6. Project plan
The actual construction of the miniature hydro power station should take approximately three weeks to complete, whereby the first week will be used to collect all the relevant materials and data required, week two will be used to build the hydro power station and the third week will be used to test the system, measure the voltage produced, and also correct any errors that may have come up during the construction phase. The design will be constructed by a group of six people, whereby three people will be responsible for finding the materials and building the turbine, and the other three will be responsible for finding the materials and constructing the generator.

1. Marilyn Thomas purchased a pool heater from Sunkissed. The contract read that the pool was to delivered and installed for a price of $1000.00. The pool heater was delivered to Marilyn’s residence, but the delivery slip was signed by Nancy Thompson. Marilyn did not know of anyone by that name.
4.11 Motor A DC motor is an electrical machine which converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. A magnetic field is generated by the current carrying conductor and when this system is placed in external magnetic field then the force is exerted which is proportional to the strength of the external magnetic field and to the current in the conductor, then motor will rotate. If the direction of current is reversed then the direction of rotation of motor will also reverse.
The construction of the Kinzua Dam in the 1960 has been symbolic to the Seneca Nation people. Ohi:yo dwagahdegyo:’ -I am from the ancestral land that covered 10,000 acres that ran along the ohi:yo; Alleghany River. In 1794 Seneca nation signed a peace treaty with the United States that guaranteed land for the Seneca people. Article three in the 1794 treaty declared that “the United States acknowledge all the land within the aforementioned boundaries, to be the property of the Seneka [sic] nation; and the United States will never claim the same, nor disturb the Seneka nation.” The inception of Kinzua Dam initiated in 1950 while the Seneca nation people were unaware.
Although this dam has provided benefits such as the opportunity of hydroelectric power and employment, the social harms involving the Aboriginal people and the residents in the area as well as the environmental impacts to the ecology of the area take precedent over materialistic
As a result, this will allow for a natural filter. This will create a possible water source that is safe for humans to drink. Therefore, this river has a lot of instrumental value if the dam is removed. Also, some aquatic plants will make a shorter life because they won’t be able to survive in the fast moving
However, a careful analysis of the reasons behind the creation of the dam and how the dam was built without much damage to the environment itself, as the system relies entirely on gravity to deliver this water; therefore no pumping stations were necessary, then it is very likely that the decision to build the dam was the correct one. The O 'Shaughnessy Dam is a vital component of the Hetch Hetchy Valley water system that provides water to the San Francisco Bay Area and surrounding communities. Nearly “2.4 million people rely upon the dam,” for their supply or electricity and water (Crabtree, 2013). The demand for the damn came about as a result of the idea during the progressive era in the United Sates that the introduction of public works to certain areas was the most beneficial ways in building a great civilization.
Some might ask why Hydrofracking is positive. Well there can be many reasons. People only hear the negative effects of fracking because when people want something changed they usually tend to leave the positive part out. New York has recently been head of a massive debate among the people and the energy companies. The technology used in hydrofracking is very advanced and has the potential to drastically reduce our reliance on foreign fuel imports.
The target audience of this campaign are individuals who are from the Blackfoot reserve, and are between the ages of 30 to 65 of either sex. The goal of this campaign is to educate the adults of the tribe about the negative aspects of the dam. The purpose of targeting individuals 30 to 65 instead of the younger generation is due to the fact that this group is more concerned with the implications the dam will have, whether environmentally and/or financially. In addition, this age group is more intune with previous challenges faced in regards to Native land and corporations like Duplessis wanting to use it. For instance, Eli and Norma are prime examples of the target group as they are members of the Blackfoot tribe and the production of the dam
It uses flowing water to generate electricity. It does this by using dams and reservoirs for storage. This method gives us the most electricity rather than any other renewable energy source. Not only do the dams and reservoirs create electricity, they also control flooding (Sambu). Hydropower is the least expensive procedure to generate electricity.
With The motion of the turbines, the mechanical energy is then harnessed into electrical energy from the generator in the dam. Kentucky has three hydro-powered dams since 2014 so this means that Kentucky already has experience in this for of
In today decision I would have to say that Texas will remain a Republican Party. The President of the United States is a Republican. My decision would have to be that the Texas Party will stay the same way since the nineteenth seventies till the remaining of the President Donald Trump term. Texas has a lot of factors that helps makes decisions such as age, income, Education, Ethnicity, Religion, and Gender. The biggest factor would be Ethnicity, and why Is because in the 1950’s between 50% and 60% of black voters identified as Democrats.
The Hetchy Dam controversy of the early 1900’s was a debate that shaped how America has dealt with the environment since. The debate featured those for the proposed dam the conservationists and those opposed the preservationists. These arguments were brought before congress to make a decision about the fate of the valley. The debate over the Hetch Hetchy dam was about whether preserving the environment the way it is or using our natural resources efficiently had more value to human society.
V. PROPOSED CONTROL SCHEME The proposed iUPQC control arrangement is an ABC reference structure based control, where the SAF and PAF are controlled in an independent way. In the suggested control scheme, the power calculation and harmonic abstraction are not required since the harmonics, unbalances, disturbances, and displacement would be compensated.
