At the beginning of this show many of us weren’t comfortable being as over the top as we were, but once we stepped out side of our comfort zones we completed the task at hand. So as I continue to sing in Sartell Choirs and any choir, I want to continue to step out side of my comfort
I have found myself to be rooted deep down with my christian ministry group Chi Alpha. We are a group of students that seeks to make relationships within our religion of christianity in order to form a loving community for myself and many others to be a part of. Recently, I have found myself to be useful when it comes to running the soundboard at our worship and collaboration nights where I come in early in order to set up chords and mix the worship band as they practice. This has been an excellent experience as I have been able to keep up my love for music as the same time of attending university. My active participation to this after class activity has developed who I am as a person.
At church, I was beehive and mia maid first counselor and the pianist in the primary. In the musicals I was a lead dancer. I am a member of the National Honor Society. I volunteered to teach children music lessons after school as part of a mentor

Every year, there is a annual and semiannual conference held in Salt Lake City Utah, at the Salt Lake City Conference Center. The conference is held every April and October. Members and leader of the Church of Latter Day Saints come together and attend sessions where they listen to religious leader’s sermons. I play six instruments including Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Baritone Saxophone, Clarinet, Mellophone, and Piano, and I sing in my Church Choir as well. I have the honor of being principal chair on Alto Saxophone in Symphonic Band, as well as a featured soloist in the 12 O’Clock Big Band. I have applied for student leadership in Marching Band next year as well. Athletics at Central Dauphin have taught me important skills of teamwork, sportsmanship, and camaraderie. My musical involvement has also shown me that hard work and practice can make anything
Concert Report: University of Utah Chamber Choir 4/26/16 The first piece of the evening was “Versa est in Luctum” by Tomás Luis de Victoria.. Throughout the piece, the University of Utah Chamber Choir: did a nice job of creating nice gentle crescendos. This was created by the connection the choir and their conductor created with each other.
Working as much as I could with him, my voice improved drastically, but my sound had not completely formed to my goal tone. Continuously and slowly improving, I learned various techniques and exercises that formed the foundation of my voice, the air support from the diaphragm. The only obstacle that prevented me from progressing more was the natural anchor of my voice still changing, which prevented it from having a developed tone. It was not till my twelfth grade year that my voice matured and developed the musical tone I always knew I could
Lost Property The short film Lost Property, by Asa Lucander is a unique love story. The film is built around an elderly man that has Alzheimer’s disease. The man’s wife would bring him pictures of miscellaneous objects in order to bring back little parts of his memory. Her plan remains unsuccessful until he catches sight of their wedding ring.
I was relieved second semester when other kids transferred over into chorus, growing our chorus slightly. At the end of the year, we had learned that the chorus was trying to put a group together to go to Disney World at Christmas to sing in the Candle Light Processional at Epcot, so when it came time for school to start again in August, the room was full of new people. Once again we could divide our guy section into tenor and bass and divide the girls into Alto, Soprano II and Soprano I. After sending in an audition video, our chorus was selection to join the mass choir for two performances and to prepare, we learned 15 songs. My junior year, I transferred voice teachers because my old voice teacher was moving away.
At the end of the year for auditions, I decided to try out for Symphonic band, the top band in our school. Because I was in one of the last bands, a lot of people told me this would be very difficult to do. When the results came in I found out I had made symphonic. I was very proud of myself with how much I had improved within just a year. I even got the Academic Excellence for Concert 2 band award at the end of the 2013-2014 school year.
Joining band had an immense and almost immediate impact on my life. Before being in band I had never had a talent that I felt completely confident in. I enjoyed practicing and spent many hours trying to improve my musical ability. In
I’ve spent hundreds of hours working with my peers, building friendships while working toilsomely to perfect one show each year. When we weren’t on the field practicing, we were performing at football games or at community events, bringing the community together with a sense of pride. Being a part of the marching band has taught me to put the betterment of my peers over myself and I have made it my goal to make the people around me the best that they
At a young age, I constantly wanted to express myself through music. I always found a way to incorporate music into my daily life, whether it be by blasting my favorite music, creating my own funky songs, or even having the opportunity to participate in my elementary school choir. My love for music actually took flight after I had decided to join my elementary school choir, however, in my opinion, it is not the most transformative moment in my life. After elementary
It was only my second year being in choir and I was going to attempt college-level music competing against people who have been singing way longer than I had; some that has even been in choir since the sixth grade. I knew I needed all the help I could get so I went to Tarleton’s All-State Choir Camp over the summer. It was there I saw a familiar face, Kyle Hendrix, a former all-stater bass from our school.
