The story is from the perspective of Ponyboy Curtis, a 14 year old boy. He is living with his two brothers Darry and Sodapop because both his parents died. Darry is 20 years old and Sodapop is 17. They both work to help support the family. Ponyboy and his brothers live on the poor side of town. They are called greasers and are not as privileged as the Socs who live on the rich side of town. Being a greaser is difficult because they are the lowest class. The Socs often harass and beat up the greasers. In the beginning of the story, Pony gets beat up by a group of Socs. Pony and his brothers are also part of a gang. This gang consists of Darry, Soda, Ponyboy, Johnny, Steve, Dally, and Two-bit. They are all greasers and they have been through hard times. One day, Ponyboy, Johnny, and Dally go to the drive in movies. Dally
Hello, I am Ronald Wilson Reagan. I was born on February 6, 1911, in Tampico, Illinois. My father 's name was Jack Reagan and my mother 's name was Nelle Wilson Reagan. When I was born my dad came rushing through the door and looked at me once and said that I looked like a little dutchman and that nickname stuck. I was called dutch for most of my childhood. My dad drank a lot of alcohol and since our family couldn 't handle the shame, my family moved around most of the time. I was the new kid in school all the time . My first job was a lifeguard on the Rock River. I was fifteen years old. I saved 77 lives and a set of false teeth. Every time I saved a life, I would put a notch on a old log lying by the river.
The rivalry between the Socs and the Greasers seem to increase as days go by. Could this end in more violence and bloodshed?

Some people believe that turning a year older is exciting and means that you will be treated more maturely. Well, in Sandra Cisneros's short story, “Eleven” Rachel quickly becomes aware that it is anything but that. By using interior monologue, imagery, figurative language, and repetition Sandra Cisneros evokes how rachel really feels about turning a year older.
One major theme in Sandra Cisneros's short story “Eleven” is the coming of age. Cisneros opens the short story with our narrator's observations on aging. Rachel has already noticed that birthdays are symbolic, but do not literally represent emotional evolution. Rachel has noticed that her mother cries and gently reminds readers that it's okay for adults to cry. She reminds the readers that no matter the age all human beings can feel vulnerability and pain. She goes on to talk about how people can feel different from their age, such as adults can “feel three”. This short story mostly revolves around this idea that as you get older the more the world changes around you and the more you notice things about other. On the other hand, "Eleven" is an anti-coming-of-age story, too, one that challenges the genre and questions whether one ever truly "comes of age." Traditionally the genre centers on moving from one stage in life to another stage of life as though the two are exclusive life phases.
Why all the fighting? It doesn't solve anything. It just causes more problems necessary. There's always so much of it, it's hard to make it go away. When the Greasers and Soc's fight, have you ever noticed how no one ever wins? The book, The Outsiders, by S.E Hinton is about brother hood and friendship. Is also about two gangs called the Greasers and the Soc's constantly arguing and fighting. Constantly fighting about their gangs placement in their cities, girls, and where they can and can't go.
Ponyboy Curtis is the main character in the story The Outsiders by S.E Hinton I read for my reader’s workshop project. This story takes place in Oklahoma around the 1960’s. Ponyboy belongs to a lower-class group in Oklahoma who are the greasers because of their greasy hair and where they come from. When walking home in the beginning of the story Ponyboy gets jumped by the Soc’s who the greaser’s rivals are. They gang up on Ponyboy and threaten to cut his throat and hair. Then a bunch of greasers comes and chases them away. Ponyboy, Sodapop, and Darry’s parents were both killed in a car crash so now they live together in a small rundown house. The next night, they all go to a drive in movie. Ponyboy, Johnny, and Dallas sit behind two attractive Soc girls. Dally flirts with the girls obnoxiously so Ponyboy and Johnny tell him to stop. He eventually goes away and Johnny and Pony boy have a chance to talk to the girls. Later that night,
Seventh grade was fantastic, but I would like to change a few things for next year. Next year in eighth grade, I need to increase my vocabulary, participate more in class, and stop procrastinating.
