According to the TypeFocus personality assessment, my Myers-Briggs personality type is INTP. The letter I means that I am more introverted and focus more energy on thinking about the inner world. The second letter, N, represents my preference for intuition, which means I lean toward imagination, creativity and possibilities when assessing information. The third letter, T, describes how I make decisions. Since my type is thinking, I utilize logic and reasoning when making decisions. The last letter, P, stands for perceiving. My preference for perceiving affects how I approach daily life. I tend to work best under pressure and prefer spontaneity to following a routine.
Watson from Sherlock had the ISFJ personality type also. People believe ISFJs are the backbone of the workforce. The suited careers for ISFJs would be jobs with history behind them, such as medicine or academics. I can also relate to the fact that people with my personality type like to do behind the scenes work and stay under the radar, but still be appreciated for the work and effort put into it. Something new I learned about myself was that being to nice and selfless can be one of my weaknesses and allow people to walk all over me. I think it is important to be self-aware of who you are so you can be the best version of yourself and use it to your advantage in life. I think being aware of your personality allows people to become their true selves and maybe make them realize who they are and it’s normal for everyone to be a little
The personality type that was indicated from my completion of the MBTI puzzle is introvert, sensing, feeling, and judging (ISFJ).
The results of my Jun Typology Test revealed that I am type INFJ, with Introvert (16%), iNtuitive (41%), Feeling (16%), and Judging (34%), preferences. Some of the characteristics associated with type INFJ include, an unusual spectrum regarding the intensity of talents, I am a doer, an idealist, creative, maintains a strong perspective regarding humanitarianism, and a rare mix of practicality and perception. Although I am a giver, I find it necessary to disengage from the world at times, in order to replenish and protect myself from becoming overwhelmed. I am somewhat complex, while possessing an uncanny acumen to discern the motives of people, whether favorable or unfavorable. Also, I maintain strong writing skills and personal charisma.
“Moral Authority comes from following universal and timeless principles like honesty, integrity, and treating people with respect”-Stephen Covey. With power comes great responsibility, just as authority does. However, sometimes people abuse their power in certain situations. It is also common to see people with power step on the people below them. In The Crucible, many characters use their power and authority in Salem for personal gain and for wrongdoing. Throughout history authority figures give orders to people below them and those people have listened, which shows the kind of effect authority has over a population who cannot make a decision in times of stress.
Now as I’ve been agreeing with all the test’s results and their meanings behind them, there is something that Ms. Kendra Cherry speaks of that I don’t agree with, and that is some of her career choices for ISFJ people. Now she does gives an examples of some that are good choices such as a bookkeeper, banker, and an accountant, she thinks that some of the best career choices for people with the personality type are social worker, counselor, teacher, etc. The reason why I disagree with her choices is that I feel that her choices don’t go well with people who have the ISFJ type of personality. Knowing what it means to be a ISFJ, you would know by now that people who have this type of personality are kinds of people who wouldn’t fit the mold of
I agree with the results that showed up on the findings of the test. My personality type is ISFP. I agree that I have a dream of mastering action skills. I have always liked playing basketball when I first found out about it. I started playing in eighth grade and it was really fun to play. I wanted to play in high school, so I started practicing and trying to develop new moves and skills. This year I want to try out to be a shooting guard. I also agree that I am sensitive to the pain and suffering of others. When I went to Vietnam, I saw many poor people that were suffering from hunger. I saw a lady with lost limbs and that is when I started to appreciate what I had. I do agree with the jobs that they picked for my personality. I like helping
I believe community is an important aspect to all our lives. Community builds character and, in some cases, defines who we are. There are different forms of community, such as “community standards” and “community action”, that ultimately bring individuals together whether they agree or disagree with one another. In his book Our Divided Political Heart, E.J. Dionne discusses what community is and its significance to society. Through my writing, I would like to specifically talk about “community action”, “community standards” and “community policing”.
There are many different aspects to consider when an individual is trying to see what career best suits them and who they are as a person. Some people are very strong and confident in who they are and what aspirations they want to see accomplished in their lives. Others are not so sure of themselves or have no direction in where they would like to see themselves after high school or college. In these extreme cases, one concept that people use that assist individuals in finding themselves and what they want to do with their life is by taking the Myers Briggs assessment. I took the Myers Briggs test and found it extremely interesting due to the personality traits that were given to me. I was given the traits ISFJ, which stands for introverted,
I took the Myers-Briggs Personality test and tested as an ENTJ. I felt that the this gave me an accurate rating and felt that the description it gave was accurate. I went and read the descriptions for all the other personality types to see if any of them were a better match. I found INTJ to be close but feel that ENTJ was definitely the best match.
Although I can look back into my past and find many examples of actions or behaviors that aligned my personality perfectly with an INTJ personality type and perhaps in a relax environment that is my personality. I normally do not think of myself as the INTJ describe by many of the references. These references describe INTJs as natural leaders, hard workers, supreme strategist, able to objectively see the reality of a situation and able to adopt and change things when they are not working. These also describe INTJs as effective leaders that sometime choose to remain in the background until they see the need to take over the lead and analytical individuals with highly-developed imagination that sometime rather prefer to keep the time they spend
State-Trait Depression Inventory (STDI) was used to measure depression (Spielberger, 2003). A 20-item questionnaire was administered that corresponds to the depression subscale of State-Trait Personality Inventory (STPI). It employed a four-point Likert scale with 1 meaning “almost always” and 4 meaning “almost never”. The Cronbach’s alpha coefficient for the scale in the present study is 0.93.
The personality perspective has been described by many theorists in order to explain behaviors behind a functioning person. There has been legendary theorists’ underlying this perspective, with different views and observations of understanding personalities exceptionally well. Regardless of lack of prominence in some approaches, their terminology and ideas still influence psychology today (Meyer, 2008). Only the two theories of Carl Rogers and Victor Frankl have been applied in the case study of Thapelo and Lerato. The Carl Rogers theory of the self-concept will explain the development and structure of personality, whereas Victor Frankl’s theory will explain the meaning of life as a dynamic of personality.
My personality can be describe as Introverted since I am reserved, practical and quiet. When making a decision I prefer to analyse my surroundings, check the facts and concluded to practical solutions instead of making assumptions. When the decision is made I will gather the necessary information needed to achieve my goals and if working with others I expect them to grasp the situation immediately and take action. I have little to no tolerance for indecisiveness and assumptions in situations where there is a deadline because it is expected that persons hold their own. My obligations are my main priority even if personal matters have to suffer. I tend to lead or prefer to work alone in order to produce high quality results. My personality as it relates to my friendships and relationships are direct. I choose based on the logic of quality over quantity. That is, instead of having many
The Big Five Personality Traits are divided into five broad characteristics, which is basically used to describe the variations of human personality. The various characteristics are:
