The Problem and Its Setting
One of the hardest parts of being a teacher is how to cope with a large number of students every day and dealing also with their student misbehaviour. However, the teachers shared their idealism and enthusiasm in teaching while playing an important role in providing the students a good classroom setting through classroom management strategies for better learning. Of all of the activities of a teacher, effective classroom management is one of the most important (Lewis, 1999) to increase the provision of quality instruction, and to decrease student misbehavior, and distraction from schoolwork (Kennedy, 1996). The researchers seek to come up the following considerations: first, the researchers believe that IS teachers have a different level of awareness and coping mechanism on classroom management. Second, the researchers consider specifically the IS teachers to be the subject that through this, the researchers may be able to help the teachers by providing the strategies and to raise their awareness on classroom management. In the light of the above background, this study purposely aims to identify the level of awareness and coping mechanism of the IS teachers on classroom management. and Marzano, J.S. and Pickering(2003) “Classroom management that works: Research based strategies for every teacher”, Lewis (1999) in his Journal “Teachers coping with the stress of classroom discipline”, Lewis, Roache, and Romi (2011) in their journal entitled “Coping styles as mediators of teachers’ classroom management techniques” and Kennedy(1996) “New challenges for civics and citizenship” are focused in the positive effects of Classroom management in promoting academic engagement and student competency. They defined it as the process by which teachers and schools create and maintain appropriate behavior of students in classroom settings.
