The rate of bullying that can be detected in schools these days is astonishing. Now a days, with the use of new technology but also with traditional ways, kids continue to bully other children simply because they are different. Leonid Fridman demonstrates how these wrongful actions have taken a toll on children and young adults across the nation. In the passage from ¨America Needs Nerds¨ by Leonid Fridman, Fridman develops his argument that intellectuals should stop being ashamed for their intellectual achievements and instead should be praised for them through the usage of an accusatory tone, rhetorical questions, and continuous comparisons. The main idea of this argument is to determine if the name “bully” is given to kids by adults for the wrong reasons. By relating ethos, logos, and pathos to the research and claims of the author, a complete analysis will determine if the argument she has presented would appeal to the reader and sway them to one view. The first main claim presented shows how adults can act irrationally to their view of bullying.

The narrator first admits how she wasn't confident in herself and her need for validation from others is what started her path on bullying others. She saw that the only way that she could boost her own confidence while getting people to like her was by destroying the confidence in others'. “We focused on other people’s inhibitions, which made me forget about mine. Dealing With Bullies 3rd Rough Draft Essay Did you know that 75% of kids have said they were bullied or teased. Bullying can make kids feel scared, sick, lonely and sad. According to the text, bullies pick on kids who don't have a lot of self confidence and get frustrated easily. This means that bullies pick on kids who they think will give a big reaction and have little self confidence. If the child is getting encouraged and praised by their careers as they learn then with can build up their self-esteem and confidence as if they didn’t then this could make the children have insecurities about their own abilities to do things and would have a need of people reassuring them, this could lead up to them having Lack of motivation and having a poor self-esteem about doing new things. Bullies are usually stronger and victims are usually perceived as weaker and unable to protect themselves.” (Masterson,1997) Bullying expands in many aspects of everyday life; from schoolchildren and teenagers, to adults , working environments and even spouses and family members. Considering that the first signs of bullying appear among schoolchildren, we should examine it in its infancy, that is, bullying in early years and school life, which in turn becomes with the passage of years violence and in some cases even crime.
