This can cause confusion amongst people. Dialect emerges because of multiple sound changes that fails to spread across an entire speech community. The study of dialect and the study of language history are linked together. “A speaker’s accent or dialect may elicit positive or negative reactions in the listener. Accent has been defined as a unique mode of sound production that is influenced by a speaker’s dialect or native language.”(Edwards,1997). A person’s idiolect can effect one’s interpretation, now information was misunderstood and that is when confusion or mistakes can occur easily. The absence regularity and stability is the main issue regarding idiolect differences. Stability is established around the reality that the language of people changes over time.(Barlow, 2016).”Language is not a property of the individual, but of the community.- William Labov. Labov (1989) also stated that any type of language has the right to take the speech community as its object and do justice to the regularity and elegance of the linguistic structure as a

“So many words were still unknown that when the butcher and the lady at the drugstore said something to me, exotic polysyllabic sounds would bloom in the midst of their sentences. Often, the speech of people in public seemed to be very loud, booming with confidence. The man behind the counter would literally ask, ‘What can I do for you?’ But by being firm and so clear, the sound of his voice said that he was a gringo; he belonged in the public society”(12). Rodriguez describes the way English sounds to him creating an image that the language was very complex to in his perspective.

I knew college would be a much more difficult than high school because there would be a larger work load. The diagnostic essay was the first essay I wrote in college. I was really worried about the results I would get on a college level.

To summarize At’s such as captions, visual aids, and captions, allow students who are hearing impaired or death a chance to interact with text and function as independently as possible. With Hannah, who is 5 years old, i suggest that her teacher Ms.Martha start using closed captions when she shows the class videos and consider investing or requesting a FM system that best fits Hannah needs. Hannah was encouraged to ask questions before and try to follow as best she could on her own.
To Rodriguez, what mattered more were not the mere words of language, but rather their sounds. Rodriguez would pay close attention to the way words sounded because they gave him insight on the speaker’s background in a language. He recounts the “high nasal notes” of the middle class English speakers as “being so firm and so clear” compared to the English of his parents which was characterized by a “hesitant rhythm” of “high-whining vowels and guttural [consonant]” sounds (Rodriguez 295). He compares the way the English language sounds to him spoken in the
Throughout generations cultural traditions have been passed down, alongside these traditions came language. The language of ancestors, which soon began to be molded by the tongue of newer generations, was inherited. Though language is an everlasting changing part of the world, it is a representation of one’s identity, not only in a cultural way but from an environmental standpoint as well. One’s identity is revealed through language from an environmental point of view because the world that one is surrounded with can cause them to have their own definitions of words, an accent, etc. With newer generations, comes newer forms of languages.
What is Identity? Identity is like a fingerprint; it clearly determines who people are. Identity is something that people are not born with, it is an act people do that classifies their identity. People need to act upon their own choices to determine their own identity rather than being influenced by the choices of others. So, people must follow their own path in order to keep their own unique identity.
Our identity is a place upon many attributes of a human being. Whether the person is someone who goes on promoting themselves to the world or not, and it shows how people communicate to others around them. Seeing as language is a way of one expressing itself we can connect language to identity. As in order for one to demonstrate itself we have to be able to express our feelings and emotions and we do so through communication. Some characteristics of language is that it's dynamic, meaning that it changes constantly for example, the English people speak now is not the same English that people used to speak hundreds of years before. Language changes and modernizes itself in order to evolve and has many variations through dialects. Different language communities have certain ways of talking that will set them apart from others and those differences are known as dialects.
Introduction There are roughly 6500 spoken language in the world today. People mostly spend their life talking and destining and advanced society reading and writing. The use of language is an intrinsic part of being human. It is clear that language and abstract thought are very close to each other but many people think that these two characteristic distinguish human being from animals.
Although this huge population not really share same dialects or language, but in general we could still have a harmonious relationship between different ethnic groups. Doubtless, Han is the main population in China, however, it does not mean that only Han culture is important, in opposite, a variety of dialects could be also a tool to maintain this harmonious condition and to keep different areas’ local culture which constructed our nation 's’ diversity. Dialect is an expression in cultural heritage, it carries regional culture, cultural characteristics of the area it is also the root of the folk culture. Therefore, government agencies and linguists should take active and effective measures to rescue endangered dialects and protect them so that they can inherit regional culture and promote social stability at the same time. Dialect should be cherished and protected, it constructed our beloved

Yet again, I am concerned about where has my sociolect adapted these features
