All states have a course standard to follow to set goals for teaching and learning (West, 2018). Teachers use these standards as a guide within their classroom to provide the best learning for their students.
What I learned that certain events may occur and it will change your thought over something. The steps I had to take was to write a outline overview of what my essay was going to be like and think about the argument and claims I had to pick to support it and find quotes in the book that support my claims. We had to do timed essay about are theme of the essay were going to on. The way we wrote the essay was in TIED format because it would be easier to introduce the claim and back it up with evidence and finally discuss what it means. The leadership skill I used was to complete project effectively because I had to concentrate what I was writing about.

1. Writers of persuasive essays get people to adopt an idea or take a side using a thesis and strong supporting evidence. Words with positive and negative connotation also play a role in influencing people. An example of this is found on pages 42 and 43. Here, Al Gore uses valid evidence from multiple studies, and David Gelernter uses multiple words with negative connotation 2.

Another bullet point that helped me out is to really know about my subject before I decide write a whole paper on it. Nobody can write a whole paper that makes sense on something they didn’t research or even put effort in trying to learn about it, and sometimes that's how I feel when I write papers for classes. After I turn a paper in I think to myself: Did I do enough research about this? , Did I tell them the main points or just the details? , Did I even tell them enough of the topic I researched?.
Chapter five of How To Read Literature Like An English Professor is about how Shakespeare is prominent in both old and current works of literature and in the media. Foster states “He’s everywhere, in every literary form you can think of. And he’s never the same: every age and every writer reinvents its own Shakespeare.” (33). So why Shakespeare?
Listen to the instructions given by the certified instructor, employ the process of prewriting, and outline their draft before writing so that they will be able to write better. In addition,” explaining a concept” in chapter of the textbook have influenced my choice of an even to write about because it explained deeply on how I can explain a subject to those that do not know anything about the subject, how to give listeners a clear dictionary definition, and how the concept is important or useful for me to be remember. For example, it is better to know the concept of a memorable event like eye-witness event to talk about; so that, one would have better things to tell the audience than to just grab a concept one do not know much about.
Throughout my education, writing strategies persisted to be a challenge for me. I dreaded writing because I could never find ways to transition my thoughts from my mind to the paper. Ironically, a class that petrified me due to the amount of required writing ended up helping me in numerous ways. English 1301 and my professor prepared me for college and real life by giving me a foundation of effective learning strategies.
By planning what we want to say, it is much easier to deliver clear and direct messages, whether it be speaking one-to-one with a parent or attending a governors meeting. However, written communication comes with the disadvantage of lacking any sort of body language. Non verbal communication such as emails to colleagues or written student assessments are easily miscommunicated if not carefully worded and easy to comprehend. It will make it much easier for both the student and their parents if there is a clear and consistent system for marking work - something as simple as tick boxes of ‘can do’ statements for lower primary students. This will also reassure those parents whose first language is not English, and will lead to less concern about their child’s progress.

Describe how you would adapt the strategy or activity you identified to meet the needs of the student. To meet Julie 's learning needs, I will adapt the activities to engage her class participation in different ways, and simplify the lesson to fit her learning demands. I will give Julie a copy of reading material, so she can trace the text and follow my reading tempo when I am reading the text to the rest of the class. Because she is able to read text independently at grade level, she can also read the text by herself if she needs to review or revisit the content. Allowing Julie to read along helps improve her comprehension and brings an emphasis on her strength in learning.
There are many approaches to writing that, before taking this class, I had never even previously considered using. One such approach is the use of parallel structured sentences. Before the writing prompts in this class, I do not remember ever being taught about parallel structure or how to use it in an essay. Another new approach, that I have learned, is how to write the thesis statement before starting the rest of the paper. Normally when I would write a paper or essay, I would just start writing and see what would come to me.
