Illegal Mexican Immigrants

There’s fear of going to jail, but there is also fear of being deported and never being able to come to the USA. But why is that? It is true because many people want to support their family, give them a good future or even sometimes the children want a better future for themselves and help their parents into a better house and city. Not many people can get an opportunity like that, because immigration laws are too strict.

Sometimes people judge others without knowing how they truly are. Just because of their looks, about what they have heard, or because of their race. Someone's race does not define who they are , what they do defines who they are. Many people go with what they have heard about undocumented immigrants but they do not truly know the actual reason why they come to the United States. Not all undocumented Latino immigrants who try to migrate can make it to the United States (Cammisa, 2009). Some of them do not make it because they die due to all the conditions they experience, and only their bodies are found. Also, the undocumented Latino immigrants that get caught by the authorities and are sent to detention centers where they receive first aid, and then are deported back to their homeland countries (United States. Department of Homeland Security. Office of Inspector General. 2011). The undocumented Latino immigrants who make it to the United States are the luckiest because they get to achieve their goal first step. In the United States, there are approximately 11 million undocumented immigrants and most of them don 't have a driver’s license(Passel and Cohn). Because the DMV failure to issue driver’s license, it is hurting the undocumented population and is just adding more problems around the country. The undocumented population has been really affected by this failure of issuing the driver’s license towards them.

Children of undocumented immigrants blame their parents for their departure. Enrique having no parental guidance led him to sniffing glue and joining a gang on his journey to the United States.Also, they claim that it changes their behavior towards their parents. Children of undocumented immigrants feel hostile towards their parents for not taking them to the United States.

In the late 1900’s, many immigrants moved from around the world to seek a better life in the United States. Nowadays, though many Hispanics move here for many reasons. They like the US but, also for better jobs and pay for their family. Sometimes, we have to overcome challenges. In the US many Hispanics face many challenges but, soon most of them learn to overcome them and live a great life in America.

Many have heard of the American Dream. It is the idea by which freedom means that one is afforded the opportunity for prosperity and success reached by hard work in a culture with few barriers. People from all over the world aspire to come to America and live this dream, the American Dream. Millions of immigrants legally enter this county in pursuit of the aforementioned dream; however, each year half a million immigrants enter this country unlawfully (Immigration Reform. 2006. P5). Consequently, millions undocumented workers have entered the American workforce. Most of the blame for the steady rise of undocumented workers goes to U.S. employers, not those seeking a better life. An illegal Immigrant is a foreigner who has entered in a country unlawfully without the country 's authorization and undocumented Immigrants are a growing problem in America. Many Americans believe that both illegal and legal immigrants come to American to steal jobs away from the modern American citizen and to use social service to get welfare, food stamps, and unemployment benefits, but those beliefs are all false. In fact, Illegal immigrants have it far worse than legal immigrants because most of them live in fear of being discovered by the ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) so they have to live a life of invisibility. Illegal immigrants are a major part of the US labor force and have been an important source of low-skilled labor supply to the US economy for many decades. The Pew Hispanic Center estimates that the number of unauthorized immigrants in the US labor force was 8.3 million in 2008, up from 6.3 million in 2003 but down slightly from the 2007 peak of 8.5 million. And there are currently 11.9 million unauthorized immigrants living in the United States, with an average of 500,000 new entrants arriving annually over the last decade. (Passel and Cohn, A Portrait of Unauthorized Immigrants in the United States, 2009).

Throughout the 20th and 21st century, there has been a debate in the United States about whether there should be a border wall between the U.S. and Mexico. At this time, there is a border wall between the states of; Texas, California, New Mexico, Arizona and Northern Mexico. The main purpose behind having a border fence is to stop illegal immigrants, criminals, and terrorist from coming into the United States. Currently, in the United States, there are approximately an influx 11 million unauthorized immigrants.

Attempting to escape poverty and violence, immigrants are obligated to leave everything behind in their country and embark for the United States illegally. Because of the relentless threats received from notorious gangs, many undocumented immigrants opt for illegal entrance as opposed to waiting in the “imaginary ‘immigration line’” for an immigration visa which “is already 4.4 million people long” (Santana, 2014). After being coerced to join a gang, my father was forced to hop on a daunting train called “La Bestia” from El Salvador to the U.S. I can attest that my father is a hardworking individual who has contributed to this nation. Avoiding any bias, I believe it is unethical and inhumane to send those who come to this nation

The fear for lots of undocumented immigrants has arrived because this past election, people just started living in a great fear because they think that they could get deported. Some people have said that their lives have changed a lot, they feel unsure when they go work, when they’re walking in the streets… But this may or not could happen, because is not going to be the President 's decision only! The actual President Obama has told Americans that deporting millions is “not who we are” and cited Scripture, saying, “We shall not oppress a stranger for we know the heart of a stranger — we were strangers once, too.”

Chapter 16 from the book Mexican Migrants by Hellman talks about how he started seeing life differently when he met Francisco. When he met Francisco he noticed he was a very reserved man. He believed that the actions immigrants do reflect on everyone, for example if they see immigrants being criminals now everyone will think everyone is like that. I agree with Francisco because some people might meet the wrong and bad Mexican immigrants and will judge everyone out of one person, then later this becomes hard to make that person believe that not everyone is like the first person he encounter with. The problem with esquineros was that they stood all day hoping to get picked to go work with a contractor on a construction site. This is so sad

When a person fail to appear in court, a judge can issue a bench warrant for their arrest. With the bench warrant law enforcement can make an arrest and take the person into custody anytime. Law enforcement can also actively seek to execute the warrant at a person home or work place.
