Immigrant Laws Should be Stricter in New Zealand

Immigration laws should be stricter in New Zealand. In the past five years alone, we 've had hundreds of thousands of new arrivals. One in four New Zealanders are not born here. This is good for our economy but there are several problems concerning the impacts this has in our community. Over the years there have been an increasing number of immigrants who take advantage of being a New Zealand citizen, an example being Peter Thiel. A problem that I believe New Zealand also faces is that we aren 't confident in ourselves and our being to be as good as others especially immigrants. Lastly, housing prices and crime rates have increased as more immigrants come to New Zealand.

Being a New Zealand citizen has many advantages. One of these advantages is the New Zealand passport. It enables you to travel to 171 countries of which 155 without the need of visa, ranking in eighth in the Global Passport Power. Unfortunately, some immigrants take advantage of being a New Zealand citizen to get the passport. They then leave the country and make full use of their new passport. It would allow for more immigrants in need such as refugees to immigrate to New Zealand and make New Zealand a safe environment to be. It would also decrease the number of immigrants who take advantage of being New Zealand citizen. Allowing immigrants who are committed to be a New Zealander by participating in community events, working and upholding the law will bring the New Zealand community together and make us a more effective and efficient as a
