Cruel punishments were acted out by any government official. Police brutality in America has been an occurance of the misuse of authority. Police officers abuse their power by assaulting and harassing individuals because they can. The novel 1984 relates to this because in the result of convicting crimes the Party would torture a victim in order to get them to confess or commit suicide. The ministry of love was where most of the police brutality occurred along with making arrests.
Andrew Jackson: A Monster Some may think that Andrew Jackson was a hero, but his horrific actions during his time as president, prove otherwise. While he was president, he did many things that made a negative impact to our country. Nobody should forget these things, for they are what make him a monster. Those things include, The Trail of Tears, the fact that he enjoyed violence, and that he was a murderer.

What is race? Race is the classification of people based off genetics or social relations. There are many classifications of race such as African Americans, Mexicans, Hispanics, Latinos and many more. Racism has always been an issue in America. It still is a major problem in the world today.
Humankind, real or fictional, are constantly manipulating each other and looking to others to place blame and hate. The most common victims of this behaviour are the undesirable of society, the outcasts who are easy to hate and condemn. This is an issue that was portrayed by Arthur Miller in The Crucible as a reflection of his own times and horrors of McCarthyism, and still plagues modern society with equally disastrous consequences. In The Crucible, the fear of the devil spread like wildfire throughout the town of Salem, Massachusetts; the first victims of which were the undesirable and distrusted in their society.
(pg.214). Bronson is a very violent inmate, he has spent most of the time in prison in solitary confinement, because he is causing fights with the inmate and also with the guards. This is an example of solitary confinement, because Charles Bronson is a very violent criminal that was causing fights, and he scared the guards. During the movie, he was trying to kill people, fight with the guards, and to hurt anybody that was around him. This is a very good example of solitary confinement, because he was segregate for the most part and hand cuff.
They’re willing to give people life in prison because they “looked” like they committed the crime. Policies are even shooting random people because they look suspicious. We are all entitled to safety but not everyone feel safe. What hurts the most is that the people that are suppose to protect us and keep us safe are the ones that 's hurting and making us feel unsafe. Living life as a African American is very hard when everything is based off skin color and being black has become a substitute with being a criminal.
INTRODUCTION The phrase sex offenders automatically puts a chill down people’s spine due to the nature of the crimes that they commit. According to the Associated Press (2015), in the politics of prison, “sex offenders are marked men because they account for a disproportionate number of victims. To elaborate, in California, these types of prisoners are killed at a rate that is double the national average, most of the time by violence-prone cell mates or by the general prison population”. Sex criminals do not even manage to earn respect by other criminals because they are viewed as uncontrollable animals with abnormal urges and desires.
One of the important themes highlighted in this book is the use of force and violence in order to achieve a political statement. Government used oppressive means to control everyday lives. In many of these communities, such as Clonard, law and order ceased to exist. The police were largely distrusted. ‘Justice’ dished out by the paramilitaries was often extremely brutal, with victims being most commonly kneecapped.
I have always despised the use of derogatory terms. No matter whom the term may refer to, these terms sole purpose is to belittle, dehumanize and shame people for who they are. Although society has already recognized most derogatory terms intolerable; one particular term remains widely used in the United States despite its disparaging qualities. This term, ‘illegal alien(s)’, is widely used to refer to noncitizens/residents by Republicans and Conservatives of the United States. Survey these so called ‘illegal aliens’ and without a doubt they will tell you the term is degrading and inappropriate.
People rather have their safety and security taken away in order to keep their freedom. For instance, many Mexican immigrants try so hard to reach the American Dream, so they are willing to risk their lives to obtain that freedom and opportunity for education. They walk through the burning hot deserts, go through dehydration for many days, and even more hardships in order to leave their problems in Mexico and get a fresh new start at life. Even when in America, illegal Mexican immigrants face every day worrying whether they will be deported and lose their chance at having the American Dream. They sacrifice themselves and all their possessions back at Mexico just to come to America in order to obtain the freedom that citizens get.
The policy has created a large inequality gap in today’s western society, seen in wealth, race and the mass incarceration of the minority group such as the African-Americans, the Aboriginal and people that have mental health issues. This out-dated policy has allowed racial disadvantage to happen where the government shows little interest in dealing with this injustice due to making them look being soft on crime (3,54). This policy has kept the minorities poor, depress earnings by 30–40%, break up families, make men unattractive marriage partners, and increase social disorder (3,54). The result of this policy is creating mass incarceration where prison are overcrowded with minorities groups and as stated in my introductory assignment where resources are being stretched to the max, where things such as social programs in prison are being canceled to give the basic material for each prison.
