4.3 The IMPACT of CHINA’S CULTURAL RISE FOR AFRICAN SOCITY
Cultural exchanges, a future of China-Africa social relations for over few decades, will have to help lay the groundwork for political, economic, media, and education cooperation. Because the cultural cooperation between both regions is the exchanges of experiences and ideas. Culture is not only about folklore, is also about the knowhow, the experience, the customs, the philosophy of people. That kind of exchange could bring mutual benefit to both regions and be the pillars of their political, cultural, or economic decision when dealing with each other. Whereas cultural links had once been the first and sometimes only ties between China and African countries, today they have given way to a diverse array of interpersonal links (David H. SHINN and Joshua EISENMAN, 2012). Cultural exchange was often the first area of cooperation for countries beginning to open relations with China in Africa. Based on close study of two eras of increased interconnections in global history, the Post-Classical Trade Routes and the Early Modern, Columbian Exchange, we should expect significant changes after we make contact with an alien civilization. Two of these changes are the spread of disease and cultural diffusion and syncretism. The first historical event that can help us understand interconnection is the trading routes of the Post-Classical Era. Throughout time diverse regions have considered other societies to be barbaric, causing them to have the desire of “civilizing” them. Many individuals accept the rule of a higher and civilized region as they believe that their alterations will benefit them. Although, by enabling a higher power to acquire authority in another foreign nation, will diminish that regions culture and individuals will not truly possess respect, ultimately causing them to rebel against that foreign power after they comprehend their true nature. Likewise, after the Berlin Conference, which set certain rules for the partition of Africa, numerous European powers desired in colonizing Africa and obtaining control during the early 1800s, which was known as the Scramble

Trading relationships opened up communication between different continents and led to the development of many new and advanced products and even services. The impacts of Columbian Exchange have been felt in almost every corner of the world, and it has played a pivotal role in the global economy. To some extent, it has shaped the way we live and how our societies interact with one another. Its influence is seen in the medical, economic, and cultural developments of today, and it will continue to shape the world for centuries to come. The Columbian Exchange has had a deeply significant
The ancient civilization of China gave us the paper we use today and spread many ideas throughout Asia. Although the Egyptians first invented the papyrus paper, it was the Chinese who first made paper out of trees, the paper we use today. They found this paper to be much easier to make. However, China did not make most of their income off of the new paper product; China obtained their wealth by selling silk. China is the only place where silkworms can be found naturally.

Culture, an assortment of human activities and principles, leads a group of people with common beliefs and values; but after it was taken away by the Europeans, all they felt was lost and with no identity. (Arowolo 2010, 4) Colonialism caused an abrupt decline of culture and tradition in the colonies because the Europeans imposed a new culture on the African’s traditional one. Due to Africa’s subjugation and it being controlled by the Europeans, Western civilization and life style began shaping the colonies. (2) One can say that European culture is characterized by a Christian worldview and individualism. Nations engage in international trade because they benefit from doing so. The gains from trade arise because trade allows countries to specialise their production in a way that allocates all resources to their most productive use. Trade plays an important role in achieving this allocation because it frees each and every country’s residents from having to consume goods in the same time combination in which the domestic economy can produce them. During the past decade, China’s growing presence in Africa has increasingly become a topic for debate in the international system and among economists as well as policy analysts.

The Chinese people have shared a common culture longer than any other group of people on earth.
Cultural exchange programs are for connecting, enriching and empowering the global community. Cultural exchange programs expose students to people from different cultural, geographic, religious and socio-economic backgrounds and provide the opportunity for students to develop a greater understanding of diversity both in their home country and visiting country. Cultural Exchange Program allows students to interact with and learn from people who are different from themselves and to participate in new and distinctive experiences beyond their own communities. Cultural exchange helps students to develop positive relationships with others, understand a broader range of perspectives, and develop the knowledge and skills needed for participation in our multicultural society. Participating in International Cultural and Educational Exchange programmes is a life changing experience.
