Good governance contributes to a Not for Profit organisation by providing leadership. Hudson (1999) advocated that having a strong board was essential for providing leadership and good governance. In the past being a board member was seen as some sort of an accolade or pastime, something that was used to break up the monotony of everyday office work. Not many skills were required because it was not recognised that leadership was key to good governance and the track an organisation was taking. However in the ever changing world of the Not for Profit sector the standards and expectations of a board is now more demanding than ever. As these organisations are more and more exposed to the public eye there is more of an emphasis on higher standards from people who are responsible for the organisation. As much as company managers face a lot of burden in their works, it is better to get along with some of the issues that we might face along that might hinder the success capability. If employees are not familiar with the company’s goals and what the company is expect from them they won’t be able to perform good. Successful organizational culture requires a team work. Johnson should establish the espoused values of the company. These are the stated values and norms that are preferred by the company (Kreitner, 2013, p.63). Additionally, the faction is individuals were appointed to be on a healthcare board with no medical background. The board consisted of successful business people that lacked or failed to enforce business processes, marketing and operational knowledge. Another challenge people in leadership positions did not care if the work was performed. However, leaders on the board nor leaders connected to the organizations refused to participate with enforcing employees to follow policies set forth. These companies conducted several mergers and each entity are connected with the board fail to deliver positive results in any capacity.
My group chose the collaboration, respect, teamwork, compassion, and empathy for others as our values. It took much communication within the group and between groups to conclude with values within our class’s community. I will carry the concept of values within a community with me after class by being open minded when it comes to values of other people.

The values and ideologies that are most important to my future practice include respect for the inherent dignity and worth of persons, service to humanity and competence in professional practice. First, my value of providing respect for the inherent dignity and worth of persons is important to me and my future practice because it allows me to see the uniqueness in all my clients and subsequent cases. On completion of the case study about the SAS Institute, I stormed across these four factors; Job performances, organizational citizenship, Absenteeism, Turnover. According to the case study, these four factors have proven to have the strongest influences over work behaviors. Furthermore, the approaches the leadership of the SAS institute takes towards them, I believe, have been the essence of their success.
