Just take a minute and really think about this, imagine living in a secluded house not able to talk too loud, or move around too much for 25 months. Well, this is what Anne Frank and her family had to do. Along with the Franks, one other family, and another man lived in the annex for the 25 months. The Franks moved from Germany to Amsterdam when the Jews were beginning to be persecuted. When the Franks received a letter saying that there daughter Margot was required to come to a working camp, they went into hiding. Historical events in Anne Frank are impacted in many ways throughout the drama. One being mood changes between the characters, and relationships between the characters change.
Although the effects of the Nazis didn’t affect the
Anne Franks diary shows us to help and not mistreat people because of who they are or what they look like. The Holocaust was a time period during World War 2 when they killed many jews. Hitler was the main leader and his reasoning for doing this was because he thought that the jews were evil and bad. This was a horrible time period for the jews. Some of these jews went into hiding because they did not want to go to the concentration camps to be killed.
In the “Diary of Anne Frank”, the Frank family got a letter that Margot had to go to the camps. At this point, they knew that they then had to hide. They needed to do anything to stay away and hidden from the Nazis. They decided to hide above a work building that people did not know about in the attic. This was their way that they were going to be living life as long as they needed too.
In the news article, “The Controversy over Anne Frank’s Legacy,” published by JTA, the author, Tom Nugend, questions whether Anne Frank should be the icon of the Holocaust. I agree with the author’s claim that Anne Frank shouldn’t be the main person of the Holocaust because many other Jews had to suffer more than she and her family did. Her family was lucky that they had a place to go into hiding and that they had friends that offered them things that they needed. While Anne Frank and the others stayed in the annex, many Jews and other innocent people were taken to concentration camps. In the camps, they were forced to work and they barely received any food.
Anne Frank Essay In the secret Annex you would have to be exceptionally quiet in order for anyone to know that there were people living there. The Holocaust started in 1933 and the Nazis invaded Belgium, Netherlands, Luxemburg etc. which made civilians go into hiding in order to not get captured by the Nazis and sent to concentration camps. In the book “Anne Frank's Diary” their family and the Van Daans go into hiding in the secret annex due to the dreadful Holocaust .
Anne Frank was a very energetic young girl who tended to annoy the people around her with her thoughts, and never thinks about the things she says before she speaks out. During this time, Adolf Hitler has come into power, taking jewish people and their families away from their homes, killing, starving or working them to death, that has also come to be known as the Holocaust. Due to this and Anne’s family being jewish, they take action and go into hiding in an annex above an office with one other family named the Van Daans. The main events that happen, affect
Anne Frank’s Legacy There is nobody better at hide and seek than Anne Frank. The Franks lived in a confined space for almost two years with four other people, never once getting to go outside. I hope they weren't claustrophobic. Throughout this lengthy period Anne expressed her feelings through writing. Her journal was named Kitty, to keep her company.
Anne Frank Explanatory Essay In the year 1933, the tragedy known as the holocaust began with Adolf Hitler. This event killed over 6 million people, and impacted many more. One family that was greatly affected were the Franks. In 1945 the Franks went into hiding.
If they got caught hiding, they would be sent to a concentration camp, just because they are Jewish. They are being forced to hide, it’s the only way that they could survive. When the Germans ended up finding the families in the annex Anne wrote in her diary and said “They have allowed us 5 minutes to pack our things.” (Frank, 511.) While Anne and her family have many sentimental things, they only allowed them to pack for 5 minutes, they have to grab whatever they can.
At the times of World War II, conflict was at its finest. This was a devastating period of time, and a time Anne Frank had to live through. On page 10 in The Diary of Anne Frank, Anne speaks to us saying, “He heard Hitler’s marching gangs sing that horrible song, ‘when Jew blood spurts from the knife,’ and he knew it was time to leave.” The Frank family’s only option would be to hide, and all they could do is hope for
Anne Frank’s Character Development Throughout the War Throughout World War II Anne Frank was kept hidden away in a 500 square foot building they came to call the Secret Annexe. Anne Frank, her family, and the Van Daans endured difficult times of hunger, thirst, and lack of privacy cornered by walls for over two years. Anne confided her observations and feelings of the hard times within her diary she named Kitty. By writing in her diary both before and after the war, one could visibly notice how Anne went into the Annexe as a juvenile and came out as a young adult.
When Anne Frank was fifteen years old, she died of natural causes in the concentration camp. This event is very devastating because of what she had to fight for in order to survive. Anne Frank was upset that she had to get separated from her family and
Anne Frank True, genuine courage is rare, especially in children. Many feign to have this aspect, but in reality only a select few exceed courage. From 1933 to 1945, Jews lived in fear, not one was safe. In the horrible time of the Holocaust, Jewish people of all ages and conditions were harassed and even executed.
In many places around the world people look for refuge to stay hidden from dangers rather than being out in the open for anything to happen to them, Anne Frank is a clear example of someone who to stay alive needed to conceal herself. Adolf Hitler wanted to exterminate Jews because he did not believe that Jews could be Germans and many more ideas that he used to brain wash ‘true Germans’ which led to the death of many Jews. Anne Frank was one of those persons Hitler wanted to abolish so she had to hide in a secret annex for two years without any contact to the outside world which meant that they couldn’t open the windows during the day due to risking neighbors seeing them which caused her not even to have a breath of fresh air just to be able
During the holocaust 6 million people were killed, but the historical events impacted the people in the annex in many ways. Anne Frank and 7 other people spent 25 months hiding in a small annex with little food and crowded spaces. Many historical events impacted and changed the character’s mood and actions in the drama of Anne Frank. Staying in a small space with the same people for 25 months, the character’s mood towards other character’s become tense. For instance, Mrs. Frank was screaming at Mr. Van Daan for stealing food, then as Meip said “...
When the Nazis invaded Amsterdam, Anne’s father took help from some local friends to hide in a complex of his office. The office is known commonly as the “Secret Annex.” Days were spent here in worry, but everyone kept each other alive with love and support. Anne wrote in her diary, which kept her motivated to live. For two years, her and 7 others hid in solitary.
