A research by Tessa (2014) found that 98.5% of the responder agree on teenager look for peer’s recognition though social media on their smartphone. The overuse of smartphone will also affect relationship between teenager and friends. The smartphone addiction even cause teenager to use their smartphone while they are interact with their friends.
That being said young adults, teens, and adolescences are being affected by how they use, see, interact and interpret social media in a way that can influence a person 's mental health positively and negatively. Living in a technology age, many are constantly checking their phone throughout the day. The addition of the smartphones is similar to other types of addictions such as the addiction to smoking and the addiction of coffee, however; it is different somehow.
