1.0 Introduction
This report is about smartphone and how does it affect relationship of teenagers with family and friends. It is to show teenager the positive and negative impacts of the smartphone on relationship.
Smartphone can keep people connected with the world at their fingertips. Millions of people around the world are carrying around smartphones that keep them constantly connected to the internet. However they already have a huge influence on human behaviour. For instance, people are giving their smartphones more attention than their spouses which may create problems in their relationships. Furthermore, teenagers are checking their smartphones at every meal regardless of whom they are dining with. Therefore, there is a need to find out on the impacts of smartphone on relationships with family and friend.

According to a survey , 33% of the mobile admitted that they check their e-mail and phone messages throughout the night. Nearly half of people who taken the survey said that they must have their Smartphone tucked under their pillows before going to sleep. In recent discussions of smartphones, a controversial issue has been how the excessive use of smartphones are affecting the adolescents of this generation. Jean M. Twenge argues in her article, “Have Smartphones Destroyed a Generation?” that the redundant use of these gadgets along with social media use is in fact detrimental to the current and upcoming generations. My experience using Snapchat, Instagram, and other applications on my smartphone supports Twenge’s stance because the excessive use of these applications has caused me to feel melancholic. There is really no limit to the things that can be done on a smartphone. Yet, with all this information streaming through our population’s mind, no knowledge or substance is gained. While there is a very clear argument for how the technology is effected on us and causing social isolation as we know, but in another way is also the argument that these technologies are helping us to become more social in our society.
