Describe in detail the Implict Association Test. What does this test? Who are the researchers?
The Implict Associations Test is a test that takes someone 's beliefs and attitude into account in order to find out their true thoughts on specific topics (e.g. Gender, skintone, sexuality and so on), whether the person is aware of these thoughts or not. This test tests the unconcious mind of the people who take it. The researchers of this test are N.Sriram, Brian Nosek, Mahzarin Banaji and Tony Greenwald.
I chose do four of the implict association tests and here are my results:
Age: The results for this told me that I have a strong preference for young people compared to old people which kind of shocked me as I had always thought it equally perfered the two categories. Although I was surprised with my results, it does make sense for my unconcious thoughts to lean towards the young side as I spend most of

Although this is the case and I still believe it to be true, I assume that because I don 't know too many gay people personally, my unconcious thoughts prefer straight people.
Gender: For the test on gender my results stated that I have a moderate association of females with humanities and males with sciences. This test was one of the ones that made me realize the most. I have always loved science subjects in school and I still do, but my results showed that I associate males with sciences more than females. I have never thought about this too much as I have always thought about getting a job involved with science and never really doubted the association with woman and sciences. I believe that I got the results I did because of the fact that my unconcious thoughts came into
Nosek stated that the IAT “displayed satisfactory internal consistency” because of its ability to get the same result repeatedly which directed to Nosek and Hanse to get “reliably”, (Rezaei, 2011) outcome. The consistency is portrayed within the prediction of social behaviours. Its stated that the “implicit measures of attitudes are especially predictive”, (Dovidio, 1997) revealing the idea of the IAT having a good re-test reliability as each result is consistent. Steffens and Buchner also state the consistency is “very high” which further supports the IAT’s reliability. Overall, IAT’s reliability has made the test become a “widely used instrument” (McConnell and Leibold, 2001) to measure implicit bias which makes the test a finer of measuring bias.
In this article, it says “Just because you had a homosexual or heterosexual feelings for as long as you can remember, does not mean you were born a homosexual or heterosexual.” The author says that anyone can look back and think of things they have done forever, she uses the example of craving cheddar cheese. But the author argues that if she had been raised in a different location where cheddar cheese was non-existent, she wouldn't even know what cheddar cheese is and wouldn't want it. While reading this article, one can see that it’s about homosexuality but I think that the reasoning can also apply to my data for it uses a good
1. As of a few years ago, there were few Security-as-a-Service (SaaS) providers and no IDasS providers. Is that still the case? If not, who provides those services?
Gendered Mathematics in the Case of The Simpsons A growing question within education is why males generally do better in STEM related fields than their female counterparts. The Simpsons episode entitled “Girls Just Want to Have Sums” attempts to answer this question through its analyzation and observation of the differences between boys and girls. By forcing a girl into a boy’s world, we begin to see the issue from both sides, and the many aspects that make it such a daunting question.
I found this test interesting. This test measures self-report, which is gathering information about people by asking them questions about a sample of their behavior. This test was suppose to measure specific sorts of psychological difficulties, but it predicts a variety of other behaviors. It can measure if college students will marry within ten years of graduating. It can also measure if a police officer will use his weapon (p. 410).
Recieveing this letter that I was inducted to be in the National Junior Honor Society made my heart beat faster than I’d ever keep track of, knowing that I was more of a gifted student. Every heart beat was building up my stimulation about this honor, telling me that I demonstrate scholarship, citizenship, character, leadership, and service. To know that I have all of those traits in me makes me feel more of a part of this society, and has made me begin to realize the considerable things that I’ve done. This oppertunity is great for me because I can expand my inner and outer school activities to show what great things I do in my time. I truly enjoy having a mental achievement in school, knowing that my grades sit at the top of the A’s shelf and hardly sit on level B.
How would you describe yourself? How do you categorize others? Well, nobody is exactly the same. One way to discern if two people are similar is by taking personality tests. I recently took the Myers-Briggs personality test twice, and I was categorized as Extroverted, Sensing, Feeling, and intuition- or the "provider"- and Extroverted, Sensing, Thinking, and intuition- or "the supervisor".
Pancho S. Statement of Intent I want to be in AP Literature and Composition because I think it will prepare me for college. I heard that students who take AP classes in high school graduate college at a much better rate than those who do not take AP courses in high school. This is probably because they are better prepared for the level of work they get in college.
The story A & P by John Updike represents a quest because on this particular day in the store Sammy goes on a journey, faces challenges and discovers something about himself. Evidence of this from the story is first, due to the three girls entering his store Sammy is now on a journey of love with Queenie, even though she does not know it. From the moment he saw her she captured his eye becoming the only thing he could focus on and really care about in those moments of being in her presence. Another explain of Sammy being on a quest is the fact that he faced challenges and trials during the process. One of the challenges he faced is being scorned by the “witch” whom he was checking out when Queenie first entered the store because his attention
When I was young, I never thought that I would want to have anything to do with a STEM career. I always thought that it wasn’t something that women did, and therefore I couldn’t do it. It wasn’t until I was in high school started learning more about science and hearing encouragement from my teachers that I realized that pursuing a career in science would be possible. Just like how Chimamanda Adichie says in her Ted Talk, “The single story creates stereotypes, and the problem with stereotypes is not that they are untrue, but that they are incomplete. They make one story become the only story.”
It tells me that I have a very high trust level for others, I’m optimistic and very enthusiastic when working with others. It said that I really like meeting new people and that I easily interact, that nobody is a stranger to me. I was amazed at how accurate the results were. Value:
With all the standardized testing in today’s world, it is no surprise that every parent wants to get their child’s intelligence tested. Personally, my mom had me tested when I was in the second and the eighth grade to qualify for the ‘gifted program’ at my school. Unfortunately for me, I barely missed the minimum threshold in the second grade, but surpassed the minimum threshold with flying colors in the eighth grade. I decided to take a basic version of the test again at https://www.123test.com/iq-test/index.php. I scored a seven out of ten, which means I scored between a 105 and a 120.
A personality assessment is a method of examining and knowing human personality traits, this means getting to know the characteristics of various individuals such as behavior’s and social affiliations, to actualize this, we will be applying the Myers – Briggs Types Indicator (MBTI), of emotional intelligent (EI) Key word: Personality Assessment Introduction As we recalled from the above definition of personality assessment, is a method of examining and knowing human personality traits, this means getting to know the characteristics of various individuals such as behavior’s and social affiliations, to actualize this, we will be applying the Myers – Briggs Types Indicator (MBTI), of emotional intelligent
When she was studying in a rural public school, her principal expressed, “girls never go on in science and math.” This shows the biased role models in American K-12 schools. Teachers cannot foster the initiative of learning about science if they continue the stereotype threat. The negative stereotypes transmitted from schoolteachers affect girls’ science attitudes and eventually undermine their academic performance and interest in science. Female students are afraid of selecting a STEM major as their future career, because their science teachers indicate that they cannot get the same successful academic achievement in this field as men
Single gender schools reinforce stereotyping involving male and females. (Ancheta , 2018). Male and females who different in their virtue grow apart in their attitudes, abilities, and mutual understanding the more their environment changes. Girls who grow up in co-ed schools and household containing brother tend to be more aware of sports and building toys. Compared to girls without growing up in single sex schools and households without brothers.
