Wallace, I have added some new aspects to my list of outstanding leadership skills. This includes being punctual, firm yet fair, and using easy to understand language. Leaders for a highschool activity should always be on time. If your leader is always late, that takes away from useable rehersal time, but if they show up when they are supposed to, you will be able to get done what needs to be done to make the program the best it can be. Also, future leaders really need to learn the concept of firm yet fair.

In life I have noticed leadership to be a key attribute of mine. This was not a quality I would seek to obtain, it was more like one bestowed upon me. Growing up I was the second oldest and only daughter of four children. Though we were rich in spirit, financial hardships made it difficult and at times impossible to fulfill the basic needs and wants of most kids. With the odds stacked against us, I began at a young age to realize that I had to take charge, I had to make a change, I had to lead.
In my business class, I was given the opportunity to create a business involving 4 different sectors. In a similar manner, being the team leader during this project, I integrated the best factors from the ideas of my peers and teacher and established what would be most profitable. With my experience growing up in two different cultures, I am able to decide what qualities and factors are best for each situation and act upon it. Throughout my entire life I have been constantly learning and improving a wide range of personal and social leadership skills, especially in these most recent few years of middle school and high school. Critical Review of Leadership Theories There have been a variety of theorists who have tried to understand how good leaders acquire their skills and whether the components which make up a successful leader are hereditary or learned. Many Studies have been made using twins to identify that about forty percent of differences in personality are hereditary. (Vernon et al., 1998) From this we can see that it is not only a matter of whether a person in born with these skills but one must also build on them to become a successful leader.
In my leadership development plan, I will start by reflecting on myself, experiences, and accomplishments.
