John Lennon once wrote, “When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down happy. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.” Our lives are clearly shaped by what we make of them. My goal in life is to use the knowledge and values that my parents and teachers have instilled in me to achieve my “happy” life through a rewarding pharmacy career and valued friendships. In the fall of 2018, I will begin my journey towards my career goals by attending Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. When I received my acceptance letter in December announcing that I was chosen into Drake’s pharmacy program, I was ecstatic! This was so important to me because it meant that I had achieved my first goal of being accepted into my first choice college. The reason I am passionate about Drake is because it is a smaller school and the teachers are dedicated to their students, much like the teachers at Columbus High School. I also admire Drake because it is ranked as one of the top pharmacy schools in the country. The healthcare field …show more content…
Drake has a pharmacy club which I am very interested in being a part of in order to help better prepare me for a career in pharmacy. I would also like to be a part of service organizations while on campus. Service has always been a big part of my life and I would like to continue to do service throughout college and adulthood. One of my life’s goals is to complete the pharmacy program and be employed in either a retail pharmacy setting or as a compounding pharmacist. To achieve this goal, I will work to continue to earn high grades just as I have in high school. I have also taken some college courses in high school to accumulate some college credit before I attend college and to give me some insight on the coursework of a college
I would be remiss if I failed to mention Namosha’s outstanding personal integrity, as well as her warm, personable attitude. Thus, I am convinced that a summer internship for pharmacy students with Rutgers University will be a win-win for both Ms. Mohite and Rutgers University: Namosha will earn valuable experience toward her goal of becoming a Pharmacist, and Rutgers University will have a student intern who will distinguish herself as an outstanding participant in your program.
According to the article Blending High School and College Can Sharpen the Focus of Each by Joel Vargas, it states that “early college experiences increase college success rates.” In other words, these early experiences allow a student to prepare for the challenges of college work while still having that support from their teachers and tutors. Throughout my high school career, I had the opportunity to take honors and Advanced Placement courses for the majority of my classes. The Advanced Placement courses allowed for a better understanding of the subject as well as providing the extensive work often similar to college classes. Learning the subjects from college in high school, such as English 101, even if not receiving the college credit for it, allowed for an understanding of the skills taught.
I am interested in the Harcum EFDA program therefore I am looking to enhance my knowledge and skills as a dental professional. By attending the program I will get the opportunity to share experience with other students. The program will also help me to prepare for becoming an EFDA and allow me to learn and explore all the tasks I will need to complete. Such as placing and carving amalgam and composite restorations, placing sealants, coronal polishing, application of fluoride, placing of bases and liners and placing and removing matrix bands, wedges and rubber dams.
Allow me to introduce myself, I am Bryan Le, a freshman that is currently attending a charter school by the name of “Downtown College Prep”. I am currently living with my parents and two younger siblings, one brother and one sister. Over my years in a public elementary school, I had seen others being happy because of one’s help and that made me feel happy inside. I then thought of ways to help others when I stumbled upon the fact that doctors help people everyday, which seemed as a great way to help many people so that they may continue to be happy in life. As I entered Downtown College Prep, I was urged by the staff to explore my options and to set a goal in life.
It is not only my intellectual curiosity, but also my passion towards giving back to the community, that will lead me to success. As a UD honors student, I plan on joining organizations and performing volunteer work that I have done in high school. It will allow me to consolidate my musical and creative passions, while participating in new extracurricular activities pertaining to sports and community service. I believe that with the University of Delaware’s many opportunities, I can have the potential to become a strong leader and active member of the UD Honors community. The lessons that I have learned from working with these children will forever remain a part of me, as I hope to grow to be someone who will one day be able to change society, and will remind me to always dare to
Health care is a term that describes a broad range of services. Members of a health care team range from family members to neurosurgeons, but each member of a patient’s health care team plays a critical role in optimizing patient care. Therefore, it is important to recognize and appreciate all the players in the medical field and their contributions to health care. I was drawn to the medical field because of my love of science and endless curiosity. However, it was not until high school that I narrowed my science passion down to human science.
I began working as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) in high school. I am a first-generation college student and mother of two. My collegiate experience has not been a linear path. However, I have shown determination to continue my education post-high school. I have overcome several challenges in the pursuit of higher education.
It requires a lot of repetitive work C. I can see myself working in this setting. My mentor Michael E. Spiller, who graduated from the FAMU COPPS in 1981 is a retail pharmacist. He has made a great life for himself and is happily retired but I see myself being more diverse and going beyond retail. 2. Hospital – in-patient pharmacy A.
I am interested in Howard University because it is an HBCU that encompass the themes of cultural diversity and education. Your commitment to scholars ensures me that at your school I will be right at home. Since I intend on on going down a medical path, I know that Howard University will provide me with best resources to follow my dreams. As a child I was always interested in the worlds around me and how things worked. As a result I participated in a Summer Enrichment Program located at Indiana University in Bloomington.
People want to be happy, isn’t that right? Well, aren’t they?’” (Bradbury 56). All people want in life is to be happy. They want to be untroubled and not have to stress about what’s going on in the real world.
Career Research Paper Hello today I will be talking about my career. Pediatrician are responsible for being a pediatrician will be taking care of newborn, and young adults that are their main task. I found my passion for becoming a pediatrician when we take my brother to the doctor so they check him if he’s sick or something else, I saw how they heard his heart looked at him to see what was wrong with him. Also, a pediatrician is not only an extremely important job, but a career that demands a wide variety of skills, and a lot of patience.
While it sounds like a simple goal, many people fail to make themselves happy. My definition of happiness is fairly simple, I want to contribute to something I am passionate about and have a family I love. I want to have the same passion for my career that Mandela had “to replace Apartheid with…non-racial democracy” which was so great that he dedicated his entire life to (Carlin 15). Mandela was so passionate that he endured “the solitude and toughness and quiet routine of prison; [and] the grinding exercise regimen to which he submitted himself behind bars” all “to kill apartheid” (Carlin 17). It is Mandela’s persistence and willingness to suffer because of his passion that I truly admire.
Not many achieve happiness in their lifetime. Either they do not live long enough to witness it or they are not prepared for what their happiness is. Happiness is very subjective. Each person’s version of happiness is different. This version of happiness is universal.
Lastly, I am also taking college classes to further educate myself in subjects that I enjoy. With the countless number of possible majors available, there is a great deal of classes that cover a wide variety of subjects. Attaining a college education has always been important to me and my family. My reasons for taking college classes represent my own personal will.
