Not everything comes in a perfect form, in fact, nothing is perfect. Our school, for example, is not perfect. There are many good things about it but many that are missing. There are some things that we can change to make our school a better place, and activities that we can add to make it more entertaining for us students and less boring. It is somewhat difficult to make school a place that students never want to leave since we wake up early in the morning, but there are other things that can improve, to make us enjoy it more and not feel like we are entering the gates of hell. The people who are responsible for trying to make a change by looking at the things that students suggest are the student council. Here are some of my suggestions that will benefit the school.
Firstly, I believe that if we have less homework, students will feel less stressed and worried. Sometimes students stay hours on their homework, they might

We are all interested in many different things. Some enjoy dancing, so they can share their interests at school. It is unfair for the girls who enjoy sports have the opportunity to join extra-curricular activities, and the others who are not interested in it have no other option, so if there are more clubs everyone have the option of doing what they love. I also suggest to not count people tardy after 7:40 AM. First of all you never know how far the house is ,and you might say that the person has to wake up earlier, and that 's unfair, they will basically get less amount of sleep not only that but also waking up at 7:00 is too early for us teenagers, and don 't forget that we are still growing, and we are supposed to sleep at 10:45 pm and that 's how our bodies are supposed to work. We end up feeling so tired during the day. There is proof that waking up this early can affect our academic performance. How can we enjoy learning this way? We sleep late because of the amount of work we
Later School Start Times “About 90% of the teens, problem is insufficient sleep” (Dr. Chen), most of the adolescents are suffering of sleep deprived which is unabling them to be healthy and pay attention in class. Many of the schedules that are given in schools are the worst for teens because one one the things they require them to do is to wake up early to attend to the classes. Middle and High School start times should start later because it will benefit students academic growth, and improve health . Starting school times later will make teen have an academic growth. Starting school later could help teens academically because, they would be more attentive to any work or test that comes their way.
Should Middle School Start Later In The Day? Many students around the world have school really early in the morning. Every adolescent need at least eight in a half hours of sleep each night. If you are an athlete who gets enough sleep then you would have less of a chance of getting injured.
The extra time in the morning may give them some room to sleep a bit more or finish some last minute homework. With students getting more sleep, we will see an improvement in their test score and grades, which can help them later in
To begin with teenagers usually need 8.5 hours of sleep a day. Not enough sleep for students has gone to far. 22,000 kids all across the USA are stressed and tired for school. School should start later because starting school early is not just a student complaint, it's an observation backed up by science. Studies have shown the brain doesn't properly function until two hours after students leave there rooms in the morning.
A lot of teenagers complain about how tired they are in the morning. It’s so hard getting out of bed in the morning, especially when you go to sleep late at night. In my opinion, I think that school should start later in the day. We learn way better when we are fully awake. We have the energy to stay awake during school.
A reason for this is that waking up too early could be dangerous. In highschool students begin to learn to drive, some owning their own cars to drive to school (Pietrangelo and Watson). When they have to wake up early in order to drive to school they may be too tired for it to be considered safe for them to drive on the roads. This leads to car crashes that leaves their lives and the person who they hits life in danger. Not to mention those who are close enough to walk to school also may be too tired to properly pay attention.
School start times are not the only reason many teens are sleep deprived, it can be caused by electronics. Many teens will stay up late on their phones and end up going to bed at around 1:00AM which is very bad for your body. Electronics emit a certain glow that tells the brain to stay up and not sleep. Teens who are up late writing papers on computers or chatting with their friends are effectively creating an even more stimulating environment that will only keep them from being able to fall asleep when they want to. One thing that schools could start to implement is block schedule, it would allow students to have an extra day to complete their homework and the school wouldn 't have to start
Waking up early affects teenagers’ social life, mentality, physical being, and academic career. A study has proven that lack of sleep will affect a teenagers’ life in a negative way, “Overtime, not obtaining enough sleep can hurt student’s healthy, safety, social life, and school career.” (National Sleep foundation 1) Due to teenagers naturally not being able to fall asleep till later in the night and forcing students to wake up severely early in the morning for school, they are exhausted. A recent study shows that students are tired throughout their school day, 60% of children under 18 say that they are tired throughout the day (National Sleep Foundation 1)
A good number of adolescents are lacking sleep and are performing poorly both academically and physically. As a result, the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is pushing educational policymakers to make middle and high schools start later in the morning (Richmond). Students show up to class seriously lacking sleep and the early start times cause them to have to wake up at hours that contradict their internal clocks, which are rhythms that determine sleep patterns. Less than half of the 10th graders get even seven hours of sleep, which is already less than the recommended hours of sleep for an adolescent (Richmond). Even if teenagers go to bed earlier, their school start times are becoming more early as they advance through grades
University students including myself time and again lay off sleep for other happenings such as studying, doing homework or even just staying up for the night with a friend. Through a biological clock called the Circadian rhythm, our bodies follow the twenty-four hour cycle of each day and night. Throughout the week, postponing sleep and missing meals makes it arduous to concentrate in class. After lunch, I tend to grow heavy-eyed and tired which leads to me struggling to focus on my other courses. In the afternoon, this impacts my body because it does not give me energy, but instead makes me snooze earlier in the day.
Picture this: you get home from school after two one hour-long clubs and after sports. You rush home, devour dinner, and it’s about 6:30. You still have two or three hours of homework to do. You finish your homework at around 8:30, and then play on their phone until midnight and fall asleep. Then you wake up the next morning, still very tired, and do it all over again.
Many aspects of public education are problematic. For example, the usefulness in grading systems (other than IB schools) are questionable. It cages up creativity and makes the students unmotivated. Also many times the grading system is just wrong. When students write something and give it to the teacher to grade sometimes they can get a horrible grade.
According to John Bishop, “School and homework show students the important life lessons, such as how to read and communicate with others, that they will use as an adult.” Students can learn how important planning, staying organized and taking action is just from doing homework. Homework gives the students an opportunity to learn how to work independently. Although I understand that assigning homework is not beneficial at times, I still believe that assigning homework can teach students many skills and even help teachers. Assigning homework to students is constructive, therefore teachers should assign homework because it allows students to gain responsibility, time-management, perseverance, self-esteem, homework also gives students a chance to review the class material, and it also helps teachers determine how well the lessons and materials are being understood by their students.
