Don’t even get me started on the American food industry! The american food industry is one of the only food industries in the whole wide world that favors money over the health of its citizens. The food that most Americans eat is processed crap, if you can even call it food! How many of you have eaten popcorn, chips, candy, or crackers in the last week? The amount of chemicals in the food we eat as a country on a daily basis is freaking ridiculous. Azodicarbonamide and Triacetin are just two chemicals found in our food. We should not need a doctorate degree in order to pronounce ingredients in the junk we call food. Not only is the food industry putting chemicals in our food, but the FDA is allowing these chemicals to g in our food without knowing the
Chocolate milk is unhealthy! Bad for you! I think Chocolate milk should be banned from schools because chocolate milk has a lot of sugar in it, lots of schools are banning chocolate milk, and plain milk is a better alternative for schools. Others may say that chocolate milk is healthy and good for you, but I argue chocolate milk is unhealthy and can make you obese. Chocolate milk should be banned from schools.
Although some people may argue that chocolate milk is unhealthy, Some people may argue that it is healthy. The first reason why I think it is healthy is because it is shown that there is vitamin D in it.The second reason is that kids are still getting the protein they need. The last reason is that chocolate milk is a good way for kids to drink something sweet and healthy.
Have you ever wondered if you could ever change the school lunches in the Public schools? Well you’re not the only one, many other people thought about changing the way you eat at lunch and started to change it. Some trials have failed but some have succeeded at the trail for their public school. But some administrators what it to come to all schools, for the fact that they are losing money because kids stopped eating lunches at school. The school lunches impacting more than just the schools money, it’s impacting the students education and after school activities just like sports teams.
Mrs. Rally, a lunch lady at a local elementary said “We serve six or seven cartons of chocolate for each one of white milk at lunch.” So why would we get rid of chocolate milk if it is choosen 6 to 1 to white milk? But that’s not all kids love it, it recovers athletes after their workouts and is a better overall diet for kids. Although chocolate milk has a little more sugar than other types of milk, yet I believe that chocolate milk should stay in school!
For a long time now people have been arguing over whether or not to change up the restrictions to the lunches served in schools across America. Many different arguments have come up in recent years. School officials should not change up the school lunches because some people need more food than others, they should not be able to tell them what they can and can't eat, and finally because it will take lots of time and money to make the switch.
After watching this video where Michael Moss speaks about Salt, Sugar, and Fat in the American diet, my views about the food industry have changed. I never realized that the government was supporting the dairy industry. It amazed me to learn that the reason Americans are so attached to their dairy products is due to the strong relationship of the government and the dairy industry.
Jaimie Oliver in his Ted Talk claims chocolate milk is abominable for children, and it cause children to become obese and form bad habits in the future. While this tends to be the thought as true, Jaime makes an incomplete argument by not fully explaining the problems of chocolate milk and using a poor visual aid of sugar in a wheel barrow without describing the implications. Milk has key vitamins and nutrients needed in a diet, like calcium, but it also has natural sugars in it. “It has 14 grams of natural sugar or lactose; fat free chocolate milk has an extra six grams of sugar for a total of 20 grams, while fat-free strawberry milk has a total of 27 grams” (Hoag 1). A massive problem with the amount of sugar is that marketing companies who
There are public schools all over the world and those in public schools are not getting the proper education that they need. It seems public schools only provide the public with the bare minimum. This bare minimum can become very discouraging to parents, students and the entire public community in which the school is. Most Supreme Court rulings agree that school districts across the nation, and across the world, really only need to provide the bare minimum legally. This present an issue, if the professionals are only supposed to give the bare minimum then they themselves will be given the bare minimum. The reality is that most school professionals give way more than the bare minimum because even though they are supposed to just meet the requirements of
Chocolate is one of the most popular type of food in the world. Nearly 53 percent of the chocolate consumer in USA eats chocolate once a week. Moreover, according to elite daily “Chocolate’s scent increases theta brain waves, which induce relaxation. This is mainly why people feel better about their problems after eating loads of it”. In fact, chocolate industry in United States accounts for 13 billion dollars and people consume 3.1 million pounds every year. However, 45 percent of the chocolate that we consume are made in Ivory Coast. At the first glance this is not a bad idea because many companies outsource their activity to other less developed countries because of the lower labor Coast. But in Ivory Coast chocolate farmers kidnap and
The topic of chocolate milk can be thought of in many different ways. But a very significant topic is brought up various times, including student debates. Should chocolate milk be served in schools? I believe that chocolate milk should be served in schools. This is because chocolate milk helps keep bodies stay healthy, and it helps children maintain a beneficial diet, since it is just as good as white milk. In addition, surveys show how parents feel about serving chocolate milk, and they like it.
Lactose intolerance, also known as milk intolerance, is the inability to fully digest the sugar, lactose, in milk. There are more than three million cases in the U.S. per year. As a result, they have diarrhea, gas and bloating after eating or drinking dairy products. A deficiency of lactase, an enzyme produced in your small intestine, is usually responsible for lactose intolerance. Many people claim to be lactose intolerant. That select amount of people, who have not been diagnosed with lactose intolerance, have low levels of lactase but are still able to digest milk products with low to no problems at all. Those people do not have a lactase deficiency. If a patient is actually lactose intolerant, their lactase deficiency leads to symptoms after you eat dairy foods (Lactose Intolerance). Lactose intolerance is usually harmless, but its symptoms can be uncomfortable.
Picture the idyllic scene, you know the one I mean: grinning cows grazing on a grassy expanse of land, prancing about and mooing to their heart 's content. What about the scene in which a mother sets down two cold, healthy glasses of milk for her children to drink and they proceed to consume the delicious refreshment in mere seconds, leaving nothing but an adorable, frothy moustache above their top lip. Unbeknownst to this mother, and the 93% of Great Britain who drink cow’s milk, she has just handed her children a glass teeming with hormones, steroids, pesticides, and antibiotics.
