2.4.1 Convention site selection criteria
According to Ritchie & Crouch (1998), Convention site selection factors included eight main categories of influenced the choice of the site on convention by organizers, which includes: Accessibly, Local Support, Extra- conference opportunities, Accommodation Facilities, Meeting Facilities, Information, Site Environment and Other Criteria.
Accessibly: included the convenience, time and barriers. For example: the frequency and the cost of connections to the site, the travel formalities of visas etc. Saving the time and cost are the organizer most concern.
Local Support: included the government and other association support, such as the government funding on MICE development …show more content…

The elements included: marketing, pricing, facilities and attractions. This strategic approach of link-up these elements good for better management of the destination. These management can help to reduce the duplication of working process. For example: business support, visitor services, promotion etc. Effective destination management can help the destinations to maximize tourism value for visitors while ensuring local benefits and sustainability. There are five positive impacts of effective destination management:

1) Spreading the benefits of tourism: Tourism expenditure benefits to support and promote the small business development and offer the experiential tourism or exploring the potential of industry.

2) Improving tourism yield:
Contributing to an improved return on investment and yield per visitor by the effective destination management. Because of the targeted marketing can extend the visitor length of stay and increase the visitors expenditure.

3) Ensuring tourism sustainability:
Effective destination management can create the sustainable destination and ensures the nature resources and environment are protected. Also, it can help to reduce the social and cultural conflicts, maintain the local traditions lifestyle.
