Question 1 Q.1.1.1 Discrimination is a distinct treatment in which can be used to set apart an individual or group of people to their disadvantage, or rather consideration based on class or category rather than individual merit. Discrimination can be noticed though race, gender and sexual inequality. Example: Today when a news anchor was reporting news which involved both a South African national and a foreign national, he said, “ three people and one Nigerian where arrested today In Santon for an alleged robbery. “This statement is of discrimination because the way the reporter says it is as if Nigerians aren’t referred to as people in the country. According to J Rawls (2013) Justice ethics, social morality should be shared fairly regardless of who you are. Q.1.1.2 No publication would want to be held accountable for any racial issues no matter the reasons may be. Freedom of expression according to the constitution (act of 1996) section 16, freedom of speech - Everyone has the right to freedom of expression, which includes: (a) freedom of the press and other media. Even so, the subsection of the same chapter states: The right in subsection (1) does not extend to (c) advocacy of hatred that is based on race, ethnicity, gender or religion, and that constitutes incitement to cause harm.
