That is known as changing attitude. Changing attitudes are mainly in two types they are positive change in attitude and negative change in attitude, for example one employee is not willing to work properly because he is not getting satisfaction to his work, because of some reason he is started working properly and efficiently then that changes is known as positive changing attitude . In another case a very efficient worker is suddenly lagging his work and behaving very badly in the organization, that kind of changing attitude is known as negative changing attitude. Attitude change will happen in any time some time it is in the interest of the management to try to do so. For example, if the employees believe that the employer does not look after their welfare, the management should try to change their attitude and help to develop a more positive attitude in them. In Part 1 of George Saunders’s Four Institutional Monologues, George describes how having a negative attitude leads to doing a job poorly while being positive makes the job more efficient and quicker. Saunders makes some solid points on how you, the employee, agreed on doing the job well and if you don’t, you will be replaced. It is life. You work to get your paycheck and if you can’t do the job well, then you will struggle in life. He makes another reference to lifting a heavy dead whale carcass on to a flatbed and how even with a neutral attitude made the task very difficult.

Employee behavior can be due to internal and external causes and we need to know these so that we, as managers, utilize attributional biases to make unfair judgements and utilize unfair and inappropriate actions. I believe that this is a biblical concept as Scripture states, “We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up” (Romans 15:1-2 ESV). As managers, we must be quick to build those under us up and not tear them down due to our own biases. Good analysis of the
Some of them that I have personally experienced are mainly when they are not happy with wages. They are not happy with what they are paid and some of them are underpaid for the amount of work they do. This leads to decreased motivation and interest in working and they look for opportunities to take a leave from the work and even pretend sick when they are not. They even look online for better opportunities where they can be paid more for the same work. Secondly, many of the employees in the hospitals have fixed job status for a very long time and when there is no scope for any growth, they get frustrated and it is seen in their performance and when they get any offer from other organization even for the same position with higher salary they tend to move out of the organization.
1.1: state the importance of positive and appropriate behaviour for leaning and work. In a workplace it’s important to have a positive attitude as well as behaving in a correct manner. Managers only expect certain types of behaviours e.g. Being helpful and having positive attitudes to be within the workplace. It is important to have positive attitude and behave because that will make an impact on the workplace.
Incivility Workplace incivility affects our everyday interactions, professional nursing relationships and our organizations. It is important to be aware of incivility to address it. Incivility in the workplace doesn’t have to be a major event, but it may be little things daily that can make a huge impact. This affects the employee which impacts productivity and patient care. Employee turnover rates, job dissatisfaction, and poor workplace environments can be attributed to incivility.
Ethical Dilemmas in the Workplace Business ethics issues are evolving. New issues come up and organizations must give guidance to employees about those issues. Ethics starts where the law and regulations end, so individuals are confronting the situation where no regulation or law exists. Moral dilemmas happen around our daily life, in the office, community, and in our society. Within any workplace, the codes of conduct will shape the ethics of the organizations.
Conflict resolution happens often in the workplace that can either drive or disturb employees, supervisors, a team, and an entire organization. When supervisors allow conflict resolution to fester without taking immediate action, it can lead the organization into an unhealthy environment. In this paper, the topic for discussion will analyze various strategies that can be utilized to control and manage conflict resolution in the workplace, and the role of the supervisor during conflict resolution situations. In addition, a discussion will include how the workplace and its customers are impacted by a diverse workforce. Conflict Resolution Conflict in the workplace is inevitable, especially in a diverse workforce where employees possess different approaches to his or her job and come from various backgrounds, who share a common work space within an organization (SHRM, 2015).
What is Ethical Leadership some may ask. It is leadership that shows through the actions of having respect for ethical beliefs and values, and for the dignity and rights of others. Ethics is associated with the morals and values an individual finds desirable. It is a philosophical term originating from Greek word “ethos” meaning custom or character. While in the United States Marine Corps, the definition of ethics in an organizational setting was as follows:
Mindset is a scientific proof that shows both the potential of the brain to grow and change. It is divided into two categories: growth mindset and fixed mindset. Each people have different responds to challenges. There are people who can still stand and fight despite all of the failures. Likewise, there are people who are less resilient and tend to give up easily.
However, it is not always the case. Moreover, promising, young employees might feel that they deserve a better
Moreover, both job satisfaction and employee engagement are playing a significant role through accomplishing the organizational goals and objectives effectively and efficiency. Job satisfaction is important in the organizational settings, because according to Robbins and judge in 2013, first of all, job satisfaction affects productivity because several studies have stated that, the more employees are satisfied and happy, they more likely to have more products. Secondly, job satisfaction influences absenteeism, there is a negative relationship among job satisfaction absenteeism because satisfied employees are less likely to miss work. In the third place, job satisfaction again plays an essential role through the decisions of staying or leaving of the workers within the organization which is called turnover .in the fourth stage, job satisfaction is the main consideration of an employee 's organizational citizenship behavior (OCB), also the employees who are more satisfied are more likely to involve in OCBs, and talk more positively about the firm.
This will only help the company to succeed and shine. If people feel good about their work, they tend to give their best at work and this is reflected in the quality of their work and also the customer feedback. If a person is not happy at work, they might not want to give their hundred percent and this will affect the customer’s experience and eventually the company’s name. Since these employees are unhappy at work they might not even show up for work quite often.
