Shorty gets Malcolm his first serious job as a shoe shiner for a popular ballroom. This job is the beginning of his life in Boston and also the reason why Malcolm eventually ends up in prison. While working as a shoe shiner he was introduced to alcohol, cigarettes, and weed which he started using regularly. When Malcolm got tired of shoe shining he quit and was left without a job. He found a job as a steward on a train which allowed him to make money and travel.
By his grandfather saying this, it greatly shaped the way Duddy looked at life, he worked hard for everything but also tried to find loopholes, so he could achieve it easier. Duddy left working at the hotel to try other things to make money, he sold bathroom supplies and pinball machines, he made movies, pretty much anything he could to get one step closer to the land he had a desire to have. Eliezer’s relationship with his father is all-important to both of them, because it provides both with support. Though it is crucial to Eliezer to remain with his father at all costs, even the link between parent and child grows tenuous under the stress of the Nazi oppression. When, in this section, Eliezer relates with horror a story about witnessing a thirteen-year-old child who beats his father for making his bed improperly, he seems to feel that the event serves as an implicit cautionary tale.
Imagine you were the judge would you rather want 14 year old Pony boy Curtis to be in a foster care or live with his two brothers Soda pop and Darry ? I think Pony boy should be in foster care for a suitable environment. I think he should be in here for three reason one is adults available, want let him run the streets, and they have better homes. In foster care there are adults there to supervise him on what he does and what he watches on TV. When he was with his two brothers they let him do what ever he wanted to do like smoke,drank,run the streets,and even kill people.
His mother and father only care about this Charles kid causing a ruckus in school.This gives Laurie the chance to be lousy at home without his parents noticing.Laurie makes up Charles to benefit from getting in trouble, so that his parents focus on Charles and not him. “Laurie did Charles when he filled his wagon full of mud and pulled it through the kitchen”(3) As a result of Charles being the main attraction Laurie finds ways to be mischievous at home and at school while not getting caught. Their attention is always on Charles which lets them look past at all the atrocious stuff happening at home. Lying leads to more problems then it solves is the overall theme in the story “ Charles” By Shirley Jackson. When someone is dishonest to their parents and other people they are causing more work for them to clean up in the end.

In this-award winning novel, Rex’s actions leads to conflict after conflict during the duration of the novel. One event such as this was the time when he cloned new sons and daughters and planned to feed them to the older members of the family when they eventually run out of food. He starts crawling at age three, but backwards. The doctors tell his family not to put any strain on his heart and not to take part in any physical activities.
In addition to this family feud Twain includes several instances of satire in his writing. At the beginning of the book, Huck 's father, Pap, returns looking for Huck. Pap is a lazy drunk, but some believe that pap can change as is evidence when Huck explains, ¨The new judge said he was agoing to make a man of him. So he took him to his own house, and dresses him up clean and nice¨ (21). This plan immediately fails and Pap returns to drinking soon after he vows he is a new man.
