The beautiful quote illustrates the importance of environment that is needed to be preserved. It is a renowned fact that the environmental life is at stake and is at deteriorating stage. This degradation has been reported mainly because of the pollution, overpopulation, deforestation, landfills and technological advancement and thus efforts have been made at national as well as international levels by different organizations, individuals and by the central as well as state government towards environment conservation. As a result of this the law commission of India in its 186th report contrived the establishment of special environmental courts that would deal with this multifaceted issue and also to reduce the overburden of cases on Indian Judiciary in order to effectively deal with environment related complaints. Various legislations are given for protection of the environment including Environment Protection Act, 1997, Environment Protection Regulations 2005, Water resources Act, 2007, Water (prevention and control of pollution) Act, 1974 and many more related acts. This was enforced by bringing National Green Tribunal Act, 2010 into existence which seek to replace National Environment Tribunal Act, 19957 and the National Environment Appellate Authority Act, 1997. It was suggested by the Supreme Court of India that the environmental courts must comprise of professional judges and 2 experts in order to deal with the matter with expertise, which was observed in 186th report of the law
