A family is defined as a social unit consisting of parents and the children they raise. Value is defined as the quality or worth of a thing. To combine the words together yields a definition of family values: a traditional set of social standards defined by the family and a history of customs that provide the emotional and physical basis for raising a family. Family values are often strengthened by our spiritual or religious beliefs and traditions.
Family values definition is to be made of ideas passed down from generation to generation. It comes down to the idea of how you want to live your family life. Three traditional basic tasks in life have been defined as work, play and love. There are many activities that fall under these categories

With children (and the parents, too) spending full time texting, watching movies and television, playing video games, and listening to music, when will the family catch time to connect and create lasting memories together? Far too often we get busy with the other areas of our life and we care less to make time for members of our own family. By the end of a long day at work or school, members of the family want to wind down and relax. And now that technology use is extensive across the country, this "wind down" and "relaxing" is also known as a sitting in a lazy boy while watching television. As the statistics show, families don 't spend as much time together as they used to, mostly due to electronics and other gadgets. My perspective
Lack of family interaction causes the family’s unity to weaken, and each individual of the family will suffer in different ways. A child is more likely to develop unhealthy habits especially socially when they fail to interact with their parents and siblings. Parents meanwhile, are more likely to put work before family if they do not show interest in investing in their children’s lives. It is high time we take this seriously and make course change that can bring the family values that are needed to build a healthier society.
