Though this lesson plan, all of the students are able to have chances to build their senses of environmental protection and learn to become a responsible citizen. In this lesson, we are going to use the flow learning plan with five different parts. First part is stage one of the flow learning, awaken enthusiasm which is the introduction session to catch students attention. Second part is stage two of the flow learning, focus attention which is the part that let student to read the instruction to gain textbook knowledge. Third part is stage three of the flow learning, direct experience which is the drama presentation part. Forth part is stage four of the flow learning, share inspiration which is the part allow students to exchange opinions and …show more content…
In the lesson plan, the proposed improved version are more clearly and interesting. In the new version, I used the flow learning to make the lesson become more structural. This sequence can provide a simple framework that allows to increase the awareness for a better effect. Then, we can meet students where they are in interest as to guide them step by step toward a more meaningful and profound experiences during one lesson. There are four stages in flow learning which flow naturally from one to next. Each stage contains some activities that are easy, joyful, intellectually and highly engaging. Actually, flow Learning can be used from thirty minutes to all day. I used it for 75 minutes this time. Flow learning was originally developed for teaching outdoor so if there are enough time, I would bring students to have outdoor activities which is more attractive for them. There are less change in the beginning part of the plan because I think that the question starting can enhance the interest and to awaken students' enthusiasm. Though this part, I wish to create the first involvement in the beginning of the lesson I will ask some questions to fosters positive thinking, to provides some direction and structure as the preparation of later activity. Second part of the plan is to read a letter which is a part like read the instruction before the activity. Focus Attention also the second part of flow learning. It can highly increase the attention and concentration of the students as they would be interested to know more about the future. From reading the letter, it can also develop their observational skills and to develop for more sensitive experiences. Although the old version also contain a flow, it is not details enough and structural enough. During the reading and discussion parts, we cannot certain the learning process of the students but we can more easy to certain their learning though a drama as
The teacher asks students what they already know about the topic “pollution” and they will individually complete the “known” column. Then the teacher asks: “What do you want to learn from
The more children interact with nature, the more they tend to know about it, and learn to care about it. The river curriculum might be an effective tool among children for preserving and protecting the river from causing further harm and being extinct, As children plant trees in the bank of the river, or tour sewage plant, they tend to be more familiar
In their explanation, they will define why their picutres are important to the survival of the habitat and the species in it. Once they have discussed in groups, they will bring up their top three examples to share with the class. For the ocean example, the students would explain how the coral reefs act as protection and home for the different animal species in this habitat from their predators. Duirng the direct instruction, the teacher will play clips from different Disney Movies. After they are played, the teacher will ask for a further explanation.
At the beginning of the chapter, the writer focused on the threat of the river and various ways children, parents and teachers can prevent destruction of the river in New Mexico. Meanwhile, the author suggests ways to help students connect with their own knowledge, creativity, sensitivity to divergent cultural backgrounds, interdisciplinary, and humanity. The writer only connection with children and nature at the beginning of the chapter deals with ways to keep the river clean. However, the author claims, “community members with unique personal experience and professional expertise are invited to share their stories with students and teachers using the River curriculum.” Additionally, staying in the woods is not the only a form of nature, listening
Through implement activities in this classroom, I observed that children have capacity to use materials in variety of ways to learn and explore base on their experiences and interests. Even though I have planned my activity and image how children might approach to the materials, I restrain instructions and let children express how they play and learn. I stay beside to observe and assist when children needed. It is treasure to see how children excited to learn and be creative. In the classroom, I’m sensitive to individual differences and abilities.
It is a good idea to discuss with the teacher about the learning outcomes, and the ways to carry out an activity beforehand. The support practitioners can make notes and observations during the activity and then provide feedback
If the teacher speaks every time, students won’t learn anything because we are telling them how to solve and work on the word problem. If the students work and we assist them through question, they will understand how to solve the problem. In my first year of teaching, I was talking and giving students everything they needed to know. In this new school year, I will take my students and use the real world activities. For example: Let the students walk around and use the materials to measure the things they see in their campus.
The fourth step is writing the assignment and correcting the mistakes. The last, but not least, is bringing the final draft of my assignment to the reading and writing center and asking somebody to review it. This last step helps me especially for the reading responses for the book Seedfolks since a person who did not read the book has to understand what was all about. Thus, following all that steps helps me in the writing
Contamination in Puerto Rican Beaches As everyone knows, Puerto Rico is a tropical beauty with ravishing coastlines, enchanting flora and unique creatures. Locals are fortunate enough to call this divine paradise, “home”. Having accessibility to all these wonders, it comes as no surprise that a large percentage of Puerto Ricans luxuriate in the beaches and wildlife the island has to offer. The heart of the Caribbean and the ultimate tropical utopia, Puerto Rico is an Eden worthy of protection, care and nourishment, yet the case seems to be the opposite.
Transition: First I will talk about the different teaching techniques. II. Body An important skill to have as
Stations or centers might be teacher-led if new knowledge is to be given or student-led if mastery is to be obtained on the information given by the teacher. Project-based is another strategy and one of the best ways to differentiate instruction due to the students’ needs and styles are addressed. Projects internalize help and support among students beside some academic skills. Tiered Activities, on the other hand, are based on the learning tasks designed at different levels of complexity according to students’ readiness levels, i.e. to be gradually given to the students ,whenever the student finishes one stage, they transfer to the other one until the task is done, or at times keeping the learning outcomes same the learning tasks can be designed according to students’ learning preferences viz. Learning styles or Gardner’s multiple intelligences.
One of the two educational goals outlined in the Melbourne Declaration (2008) is that “All young Australians are to become... Active and informed citizens.” With this in mind, this unit of work is designed to foster student’s learning in the concept of introduced species. It will open students’ minds to some of the ideas and controversy surrounding introduced species today; what are some of the dangers, what went wrong in the past, how are we still feeling the effects now, how something in one country won’t necessarily work in another. The key outcome that this unit is based around is GE2-2 and it fits into the Stage Two curriculum under the content ‘The Earth’s Environment’.
Learning Theory and The Role It Plays in Education Introduction Learning theories are used every day in classrooms all over America, educational theorist Lev Vygotsky, Jean Piaget, Benjamin Bloom and Jerome Bruner introduced constructivism and social constructivism theories (cognitive development, social development, and developmental). The theories developed by Vygotsky, Piaget, Bloom, and Bruner share similarities and differences, and throughout the years have been compared for educational discoveries. Learning theories are extremely important for educators, because learning is an active process. Theorist/Theory #1 Lev Vygotsky and the Zone of Proximal Development (ZDP), is the belief that students learn from adults who are more advanced
Indeed, no citizen of the earth can afford to remain aloof from the issue related to the environment. It is therefore, essentially important that the study of the environment becomes an integral part of the education process. Environmental education increases public awareness and knowledge about environmental issues or problems. In doing so, it provides the public with the necessary skills to make informed decisions and take responsible actions. Needs and importance of positive attitude and awareness towards environment:
IX. Professional Reflection – added after lesson is taught Your reflection should include, but not be limited to, thoughtful answers to each of the following: 1.Were the instructional objectives met? How do I know the students learned what was intended? The instructional objectives of my reading lesson plan were met.
