France is a country that I have been dreaming ever since I was 5 years old, I used to look up a picture of Paris on my computer as a child and even wrote a report about it. My parents come from a French-speaking country and I always been fascinated with the French Culture. This program will give me the opportunity to experience the French culture and improve the language that I 've been learning in a slow paste and also visit a country that I was looking forward to going to my whole life. In my Media Studies class (170 International Media), I did a report on France and its culture, and I found out that in some ways it is similar to America. For example the use of technology and social media. However, there is a difference between the two cultures, and I am curious and will like to observe and examine. What I know now is fact, but in someway I see it as a hypothesis until I experience the culture. I want to interact and socialize with French people. I know that there is a lot to learn from other people and it would be amazing to be able to make strong ties in Frances. Much more, I am excited because I want to interact with other UC students in France. Getting to engage and connect with students from different Universities in California would be uplifting and comforting. This will allow us to share and bond with the experience. Politically, on one hand, it would be interesting to see what French people feel about our political climate right now and on the other hand, to see how the French are doing. They had an election recently, so I think it would be interesting to see how their new president is doing in office. I am really hoping to be able to join the study abroad program and be able to have a lifetime experience in
