We have all heard the quote “If you dont first succeed try, try, again.” As one goes through life they will face series of struggle, hardship, and success. One will go through several twist and turns before they end at their final destination. But when those twist and turns become treacherous it can be easy to give up, slow down, and look back. It is important though to keep going, work through the difficult times, because soon one will be on the down hill slope. Throughout my life I have always considered myself driven, hardworking, and determined. At the age of 19 I decided to enter the workforce that took me on a roller coaster of emotions and tested my patience and determination. I grew up in normal house with a mother father and one younger sister. Both of my parents worked full-time jobs, as I grew up and they instilled in me the importance of hardwork and success. After graduating high school it was time for me to get a real job. At the age of 18 I was very independent and thought I knew everything about anything. I was about to begin my first semester of college and needed …show more content…
I had a new outlook and was not giving up on this bank teller job. I applied for another position that recently opened with the same company at a different location. I re-submitted my application and hoped for the best. A few weeks later, a branch manager called and requested another one on one interview with me. I left the interview feeling content. I did my best, but was not getting my hopes up. I came home where my mother asked me how it went and I explained to her the series of questions she asked and she of course was proud that I applied again. She said if at first you don't succeed try, try, again. I finally received a phone call from human resources who asked me to accept the position. I have now worked there for two years and have won several awards and have become a senior teller and plan to keep pushing forward for
Little did I fathom that this one act would transform my life forever. Rob Watkins opened the door and asked if I would come in for an interview later that week. I replied “sure” with much excitement. Later that week I went to the interview and Rob hired me on the spot as his first employee. I was ecstatic!
I applied to the company and got hired as Guest Coordinator. The job is under directing supervision, answering salon phone calls, managing the salon computer appointment systems, guest recording and tracking salon’s traffic flow. Within 3 weeks I got promoted as the lead cashier. Being a lead cashier I am responsible of providing an exceptional experience for guests by engaging each guest to determine their individual needs, keeping fixtures fully stocked with merchandise, maintaining overall store cleanliness and completing tasks as assigned. Two month after, I got another promotion and I became the associate manager of people which now called as retail sales manager.
5. The University could have mailed a letter to the other applicants saying that the final three all declined the position, and if they wanted to reapply they could choose to do so. 6. The University in the job posting could have stated that they were looking for applicants with business, and intramural experience. 7.
Lani: I was helping for someone’s project for COMM 245; I was in the video lab, in the studio. I was on campus and decided to contact everyone I knew who comes to the school. I remember I sent out a snap saying guys I think there is a shooting, be careful and then I started sending out individual texts to people making sure they were okay, like hey are you good? Stay out of an area.
I was then prompted to begin volunteering at the local Boys and Girls Club. Little did I know that this would have a great effect on my life and character. After volunteering for most of that school year, I wanted to work there. The kids brightened the atmosphere around me, and each time I helped them, I knew I was doing something right. Therefore, I sent in a job application and I have now been employed there since August.
Finally, we recieved the letter with an interview date. My wife and I never felt proud. Once again to El Paso we go, this time I made sure exactly were the building was. I wanted everything to go smooth. The whole way up there we were extremely nervous, and anxoious.
Building on my BEST experience, I continued looking for opportunities and
In my brief life, I have overcome a lot of adversity. My mom fled Mexico with her three young children to escape domestic violence. When we came to this country we had only a few personal belongings and the promise of a better future. We came to this country and lived in a small trailer with no toilet other than a bucket, and no shower except for the one that was lent to us from the kindness of a stranger, our new neighbor. As a single parent, my mother had to work day and night to support us.
Determination. I had to put this word first in this essay because its the only word that has a big meaning to me and has my whole life. Being determined has done a lot for me in the long run. It had kept my motivations up and going, also has led my life to where it is now. Determination wasn't just planted into my mindset one day.
Overworked. That’s the closest word that I could use to describe this week. I feel like this journal is going to be about me just bickering, yet there is some stuff you might want to read about. First of all, I have been sleeping three hours this week because of upcoming midterms, quizzes, and assignments due. I am sleep deprived and mentally drained and as my second year in college I have never had my life drained out of my body like a passing shadow.
Good afternoon, I hope you both are having a great day! After completing the day in the field interview with Liz Sanocki I feel that the role as a territory sales manager would be a great fit for me if provided the opportunity by your organization. As an Altria shareholder, I truly care about the well-being and future of the organization and will take great pride in my assigned territory if chosen for this role. Over the course of the day, it was great to learn about the daily roles and responsibilities required as a territory sales manager.
Although he worked in the retail sector, not the financial sector he was able to tell me what he looks for at interviews when hiring, and what he thought I should focus on with relation to my work history. The final, and most effective thing I did before the interview was to prepare model answers. Preparing model answers before the interview was extremely helpful, but did prove quite difficult. The reason for this is although the university had given me a list of typical interview questions, and I
Think of your favorite sport and imagine a game where one team was losing (the most recent Super Bowl springs to mind) and managed to overcome a large deficit to take the win. Momentum sparks confidence, so despite being on the losing end, a spark of momentum reinforces the idea that they may be down, but they’re certainly not out. That confidence then carries the team through the rest of the game, and sparks the comeback. We’ve seen it time and time again, and it probably has happened to you personally. Have you ever felt under the gun as you worked to meet a deadline?
A sense of accomplishment is invaluable to a person. Not only does a sense of accomplishment build confidence and faith in oneself, but it also allows one to reflect on how wonderful the journey to the accomplishment was, and how every little struggle and triumph was worth it. In the middle of summer, where time seems endless and the stress of the previous school year has been shed by students, I never expected to find out that I scored a five on both of the advanced placement exams I took. Nor did I have one-hundred percent confidence the goals we set as section leaders of the marching band would actually be met. Yet to my surprise, I had the good fortune of accomplishing challenging things in both aspects of my life.
Growing up, my parents have always been really strict on me, more than they have been with my younger sisters. I never really understood why, until now two months after my fathers’ death. My fathers’ dream was always to see his three daughters graduate with a college degree. Both of my parents, especially my father always expressed to me the importance my education, for my future. He always told me to never depend on anyone, to work hard for myself and with a diploma I could achieve lots of success.
