Honor code:
An Honor code is a set of rules / guidelines / principles which govern a sect/community based on the pre-defined ideals or rules which constitute the desired/acceptable behaviour. The honor code in the education system for universities is to ensure the ethical values of students being kept at check. The honor code need not necessarily be a constitution by the university. In most cases it is the council of students that forms this and the community pledges to abide by the same. The inherent idea behind adopting an honor code is that, people can be trusted to follow this code individually or as a group and act honorobly. In case of violation of honor codes, appropriate repercussions can be followed.

Interdependent learning: When a teacher teaches, it is not just the student who learns but also the teacher, who learns, unlearns and relearns as well from the student. The individual pride and ego of one should be ignored in order to keep the process of learning alive and extremely critical to create such a healthy environment.
3. Retaining Power: Indian education system is often criticised to be a rote type of education system. But the key idea behind this is to instil a retaining power in the students so that they are conceptually strong by remembering the information they receive. Practical exposure to a student helps only after a point of time, when the student is completely aware of the concepts behind it. Practical exposure without theoretical knowledge is similar to driving on roads without being aware of the traffic rules.
The teaching of ancient Vedas (Holy Scriptures) has been done through the methods of learning by heart. The repetition of a concept over a period of time helps one to remember it forever. If subjected to a visual explanation later, then this concept becomes stronger than before. Hence emphasis on retaining power has been a core value of Indian education

For instance, the proposed honor code of IIT-Gandhinagar is as follows:
*“We, the students of IIT Gandhinagar, affirm that we will uphold the highest principles of honesty and integrity in all our endeavours and foster an atmosphere of mutual respect. We will not take undue advantage of another individual of the IITGN community. We will be personally and academically honest and treat others with respect and courtesy. We will neither give nor receive unauthorized aid explicitly or implicitly for any academic activities. We will not only pledge our honesty to the Institute and its community, but we will also be responsible and speak out against any unjust practices among
Students cannot be trusted when it comes to their work and it definitely can 't be trusted when it comes to honoring a code that is dependent on students having the discipline and integrity to uphold it. I see having an Honor Code as just another wall that students would eventually tear down and bury in their dus on the way to what they
Not so long ago, the honor code system was brought up to the U.S. Senate whether if it’s best to have it input schools to lessen cheating behaviors from students. It was not welcomed at first for those that were against the honor codes and as well of the people in the Senate. Even though after all the revisions and such, some voted to agree to have the codes set in place that would be good enough to have around in school; albeit honor codes don’t always work around schools, and cheating or some type of academic dishonesty will always happen— it’s inevitable. It seems by having these honor codes set in place, it would oppose the cheating and consequences against students. As the ones who have voted for the honor code wanted that safe, confidential, and knowing that their hard work and knowledge wasn’t used against them.
First, and probably the least important of the three, is Location. I'm sure many of you have heard the term "Location, Location, Location". Gladwell says "Cultures of honor tend to root in highlands and other marginally fertile areas, such as Sicily or the mountainous Basque regions of Spain." Honor for your work and culture can lead to success, but like I said, it is the least important of the three.
My school would greatly benefit from the application of an honor code as long as such a code is approved by the student body. Such an honor code would bring about students to reconsider their actions before cheating on a test. This is because an honor code has the ability to create a culture among students which discourages cheating. Also, including harsh punishments within the honor code would dishearten students from cheating out of fear of potential consequences. Schools which have not benefited from honor codes are very different from Classical, and therefore do not prove that an honor code would be ineffective at Classical.
The key to convincing students to follow an honor code is to make it known but not take it to the extreme. To begin, many schools take the honor code to an whole another level and tend to go overboard. Some schools are known for requiring students to write and sign a pledge of honor on every assignment that is given (Source B). This method of trying to control cheating could be perceived as being too much or immortal.
The Oral Roberts Honor Code can be summarized as a set of rules that we as Christians should follow strictly. It tells us what is right and what is wrong in a Christian standpoint. The purpose of the honor code is for us students to sign off on a set of rules, and as a Christian or as a human being when you sign a document you must stay true to your word and follow what is on that document. It also sets a standard that ORU students need to act out, therefore setting us apart, putting ourselves on a different level than public universities.
The students who use the honor codes become good citizens in the future. Honor codes are helpful because there are expectations, no more cheating and social codes. Honor codes can only work if the school has expectations for their students. To begin, some say that because of our culture that the schools can not expect student to tell their peers for cheating (Fleischmann 113). Well if the honor code is in place, teachers and their peers
Honor code’s only compromise trust and build aggressive competitiveness between
Without integrity the honor system would fail due to the lack of honesty that is being set in place by having the students taking a pledge. With this being said students that take school seriously want pure focus and having the honor code it allows these principles to be put in place for better grades and higher rates of success. The author Chris Kahn in Source D uses a quote that shows the students use to commit to the honor code, “On my honor as a student, I have neither given nor received aid on this assignment/exam.” Kahn says that these students write the quote on every test that they turn in to provide a reminder that they are under the honor code. This is a strategy that is a strict form of the honor system letting the students to have complete trust in each other and to have the educators trust.
My Personal Code of Ethics as an Education Leader As an educator, and conceivable future educational leader, my personal code of ethics is one that envelops uprightness, correspondence, respect, imparted objectives, sympathy, open-mindedness, and confidentiality. A leader recognizes what is correct and utilizes it to make the best decision paying little mind to personal danger. I will utilize this personal code of ethics when settling on decisions including ethical issues and to guide my profession. I accept the focal and most basic reason for an educational leader is: To foster a dream for the organization as a learning community that respects the characteristic worth and abilities of every person and that fosters the planning of students
Introduction It is very important to study about the development of the human. Because it provides framework to think about human growth, their mental development, and the most important one, ‘their learning’. As a teacher it is very important to study about these theories. Because it have a close relationship with the development of the students and their learning behavior (Michael, 2012) .
“Ethics”, in an organizational context, comprises a set of behavioral standards, expressed as norms, principles, procedural guides, or rules of behavior, defining what is appropriate (right) and inappropriate(wrong). Grounded in a system of values and moral principles, these behavioral
Teaching is not controlling, but rather working with the students to learn, grow, and succeed together. By having strong student-teacher relationships with students, the classroom will be a place for each member to express their feelings and work together. Academic success depends on these close relationships and guidance that teachers and students have with one another. Classroom management aims at establishing student self-control through a process of promoting positive student achievement and behavior. Thus, academic achievement, teacher efficacy, and teacher and student behavior are directly linked with the concept of classroom management.
Ethics according to my understanding is that division of philosophy which concerns with the moral principles that guide us in terms of our behaviour and way of doing things. Ethics simply helps a person in distinguishing between the right and wrong, good and bad, just and unjust, acceptable and unacceptable. It incorporates the ethical standards or the code of ethics guiding a person into the right path by instilling discipline and other virtues in our life’s daily activities. As professional teachers we endowed with dignity and reputation with high code of conduct while practicing the noble teaching profession which also requires us to follow set of ethical and moral principles, standards and values. Ethics in education concerns with the study of ethical standards or basic principles related rooted in the education system.
Schools are the second place after home where students’ behavior and future educational success are shaped. At schools there are many elements or factors that can influence the teaching and learning process that may take place. Rasyid (2012) stated that there are four perennial truths that make the teaching and learning process possible to take place in the classroom. If one of these is not available, there will be no teaching and learning process, though the learning process itself may still take place, they are: (1) Teacher, (2) Students, (3) Material and (4) Context of time and place. All of them are related to one another.
