Have you ever wondered how the word “Humility” can benefit to people’s lives? From the article namely “How Will You Measure Your Life”, Dr. Clayton M. Christensen who is an author of this article has mentioned about the importance of humility. However, in the earlier of this article, Dr. Christensen has also talked about three simple questions to their students: First, how can I be sure that I will happy in my career? Second, how can I be sure that my relationship with my family becomes an enduring source of happiness? Third, how can I be sure I will stay out of jail? All of these questions are made up to measure people’s lives. To find a cogent answer to respond all of those questions, this paper will focus on humility to show its importance.…show more content…
To explain, some people might be happy in career as a result of high income while other people might be happy when surrounding with people who their felt comfortable to. In any circumstances, humility can be used to achieve. For example, if Mr. A have a point of view on happy in career as having nice colleagues, acting as a humble man can be a helpful option for Mr. A. Being an humble person can be considered as a productive way to create the relationship with other. According to Dr. Christensen, he has mentioned in his article that the characteristic of humble people is defined not by self-deprecation behavior or attitudes but by the esteem with which you regard other. In other words, virtually all people will feel more comfortable with humble person than people who had a high level of self-esteem. The irreverent action from Mr. A’s colleagues will not occur to him because their respect John as a humble person.
