Cats are known for being lovely pets and deadly hunters who frequently present the remains of their prey, hoping to please their human companions. The habit has been with these feline companions for centuries, and studies indicate that spayed female cats frequently exercise the habit. This is because they once lived in the wild as carnivorous hunters.

An education in hunting

Mothers constantly bring their prey to their kittens to teach the young ones on how to prey and consume their targets.

To start their lesson in hunting, mothers deliver the dead prey to teach them how to consume it. In another lesson, mothers deliver their prey that is trying to survive in order to teach the kittens how to kill. The final lesson involves a live prey that kittens must pursue in order to learn how to hunt and consume their prizes in the future.
