Diversity means differences among people. Those differences can create barriers to team performance but they also bring different ideas and perspectives to projects. Such differences can lead to more creative, faster, and higher-quality problem solving and decision-making. Diversity as competitive advantage, it brings a lot of benefits to the organization. Diversities bring a varied points of view and approaches to problems and opportunities can improve directing decision making. A wider range of creative ideas could provide by the diverse employees and they are more attuned to the needs of diverse customers. Diversity can also increase the retention of valuable organizational members. Diversity is expected or required by other firms.

The project manager must promote and create a respectful and supportive work environment and team members can also do things to support valuing diversity. As an advocate for human rights, I take injustice that is targeted against a race or individual resolutely. Commonly, people make rude and insensitive remarks without remorse. Unfortunately, these remarks are made by influential American icons. Ben Carson, candidate for the presidential election, stated that he does not agree in having a Muslim president. When asked why, he responded with, "if you accept the tenets of Islam that you would be incapable by abiding under the Constitution.
