As others children in VietNam, I began learning Math when I am 7 years old. (E)At first, I’m afraid of learning Math because everyone told me that it was a quite difficult subject. (C, D). However, the appearance of Ms. Chi, serendipitously, my’s Grade 1 Math teacher changed my mind. She introduced, explained complicated concepts, and applied it into pratical taks through her simple lecture. Learning Math with her’s unique methods makes me feel Math is just a piece of cake. (B,E) I found that Math is challenging, but it worth a try. (B,D) Finally, I fall in love with Math until now and she became the most influential teacher in my life.
18. FILM (A) I’m a big fan of movies, and I use most of my free time to watching films. (F) Titanic, a romantic love movie, was my first film choice since its movie reviews was absolutely amazing. (E) Personally, I’m in favor of action mystery films, and romantic comedy movies, especially Sherlock Holmes, and How I Met Your Mother. (B)As a result, it is obvious that I prefer foreign films than

TREE (D) I am a tree lover because trees let me breath better, without them I couldn’t survive any longer. (C) There are many famous trees in my country, such as rubber tree, palm tree... (B) But my favorite one is bamboo tree, because it is a significant symbol in both Vietnamese culture and daily life. Bamboo tree clusters are also popularly known as the emblem of Vietnam 's rural areas, together with banyan trees, rice paddy field or village pond. These symbols always recall a peaceful, rustic village in the mind of Vietnamese wherever they are. (A) I guess trees can be easily seen in my country. If you are in my hometown Ho Chi Minh City, there are always many sycamore trees along the streets. (E) Obviously, tree play an intergral part in our life. It can absorb the pollutant gases and provide enough oxygen; can save water and prevent soil erosion. Therefore, trees are critically important to keep our eco-system
“I am so lost in math.” “I’ll help you!” she says”(136), when Rosa see’s an opportunity to help some she will go right for it help them and she won’t stop till they get a 93% on a test. Rosa only being a student herself takes the people she tutors and shows them a more helpful and easy path when it comes the math school or life in general. Rosa is mainly known to be a
She continues by expressing her fascination with the “power of language”, relaying the degree of her expertise. In addition, an appeal to logos provides statistics and facts. She writes, “Some say they understand 80 to 90 percent” (701), referring to the clarity of her mother’s speech. Moreover, she adds, “But I have noticed in surveys... Asian students, as a whole, always do significantly better on math achievement tests than in English” (703-704).
In the photo the massive statue of the white Buddha represents enlightenment, harmony, and purity (Heim 367). It is the most prominent object in the photo, making the overall photo about Buddhism. In addition to the Buddha statue, the concrete stand that is covered with lotus flowers represents fortune and beauty, since the lotus flowers are pink (St John 562). In Vietnam the three different colors of the lotus flower each represents a different meaning: red represents beauty; pink represents history; white represents purity (St John 562). The enlarge incense pot represents the ritual of the Vietnamese culture in honoring the gods and the dead (Heim 367).
The effect of reduced forest size has already had a measurable impact on the composition of our atmosphere in the relatively short amount of time we have been cutting them down(6). Ironically however it is the conversion of forest land to urban and agriculture use that has a more permanent and detrimental impact. Logging and urbanization lead to forest succession. Forest succession happens when there are changes to an environment that causes the composition of plant and animal species to change. New species succeed the existing ones as a result of things like changes in amount of shade, temperature, or the introduction of foreign species.
Having read, The Poisonwood Bible book, it was both fascinating and interesting. The author, Barbara Kingsolver, was quick with her diction and used quite a lot of figurative language. The objective of the book was to show the true meaning of Africa and show how it was difficult to convert the people of Africa to Christianity religion. The setting was present in Georgia, which later they traveled to a village called Kilanga in Congo, in which they started their journey. The main characters includes, Nathan Price who was the main character, his wife Orleanna Price, and their four daughters, Rachel, Leah, Adah, and Ruth May.
Our society as a whole must work to preserve all the ‘Good Oaks’ in the environment for future
This quote proves the interest the children having in learning about these things. Rarely do fourth graders happily discuss arithmetic to any extent. Miss Ferenczi is a positive influence by teaching them to be excited about learning through the stories she tells them.
Often enough teachers come into the education field not knowing that what they teach will affect the students in the future. This article is about how these thirteen rules are taught as ‘tricks’ to make math easier for the students in elementary school. What teachers do not remember is these the ‘tricks’ will soon confuse the students as they expand their knowledge. These ‘tricks’ confuse the students because they expire without the students knowing. Not only does the article informs about the rules that expire, but also the mathematical language that soon expire.
The first example he gives demonstrates the ability of math, contrasting Western students and Asian students. The number-naming systems in Western and Asian languages are completely different. The number system in Asia is logical and the words are brief, allowing more numbers to be memorized and recalled. The opposite is true for the system in Western society. This difference allows Asian children to learn numbers much faster than American children.
So as a person who watches a decent amount of movies and works on film on the side, I would say the most intriguing of the movies
It would therefore be more realistic to encourage all parties involved in the process of deforestation to manage the resources of the forest in a sustainable way. This means that the usage of the methods of clear-cutting and burning would have to be eliminated if the forest ecosystem is to be able to remain intact. If certain trees need to be cut down, however, then theses should be replaced by enough young trees which can fill the same role to an equal extent as the ones which are cut down. Here it’s important to acknowledge that it’s impossible to eliminate deforestation completely since the growing population puts a high demand for more land which is used for agricultural purposes. Therefore the solution must include keeping a balance between deforestation and efforts of reforestation, sustainable management of forests and respecting the integrity of protected
The rapid destruction of woodlands or removal of trees from forests is known as deforestation. Every year, vast areas of forests are cleared to make way for agriculture and development. Tropical rainforests play important ecological roles: 1. Rainforests are the oldest ecosystems on Earth and house almost half of the world’s flora and fauna. 2.
Part B Introduction The importance of Geometry Children need a wealth of practical and creative experiences in solving mathematical problems. Mathematics education is aimed at children being able to make connections between mathematics and daily activities; it is about acquiring basic skills, whilst forming an understanding of mathematical language and applying that language to practical situations. Mathematics also enables students to search for simple connections, patterns, structures and rules whilst describing and investigating strategies. Geometry is important as Booker, Bond, Sparrow and Swan (2010, p. 394) foresee as it allows children the prospect to engage in geometry through enquiring and investigation whilst enhancing mathematical thinking, this thinking encourages students to form connections with other key areas associated with mathematics and builds upon students abilities helping students reflect
INTRODUCTION This chapter presents the background and describes the overview of this study which aims to analyze the influence of mathematical ability on subject performance of accounting students in De La Salle Lipa. Background of the Study Numbers dominate every aspect of business transactions, especially the accounting profession. Mathematics has a significant role in the business education and in the world of business. The discipline of accounting focuses on accurate numerical measurement where practitioners this field should be comfortable in dealing with mathematics.
They also help water move from the soil to the atmosphere through a process called transpiration. Plants not only supply us with food, but with other provisions such as wood products, fibers, oils, resins, coal, and petroleum. They also provide us with raw material needed to make shelter, clothing, medicines, and fuels. It’s also a fact that one quarter of the medicines we use are derived from plants; and that 4 out of 5 people in this world rely on plants for primary health care. Importance of Plants Plants are everywhere.
