Introduction This paper is divided into four different tasks, which are answered by considering Tesco. The first task is evaluating the importance of managers in the achievement of organisational success. The second task is illustrating the difference between mechanistic and organic organisation. While on the other hand, the third task is describing the process that Tesco would use for formulating its corporate strategy. The last task is demonstrating the concept of organisational culture and the ways in which organisations such as Tesco can create innovative culture. However, the two most common types of organisational structure are as follows: Mechanistic Structure Mechanistic arrangement is also known as an administrative structure, demonstrate an organisational erection that is totally depending on an official and centralised system. Moreover, this type of mechanistic system is best suitable for firms that work in a steady and definite environment. In common, a mechanistic erection is easy to preserve and hardly requires to be altered when an organisation works in an established environment. However, in mechanistic associations, power reflects a well-defined pyramid where the higher officials make the majority of the choices for the reason that the setting is stable, and multifaceted decision-making procedures that entail many parties are not obligatory. It comprises of goal setting, analysis, strategy formulation, strategy implementation, and evaluation. The first step is of goal setting in which the vision for the business is made clear. In this stage, both short term and long-term objectives are identified along with the ways in which these objectives are achieved. This process is important for formulating corporate strategy because it provides clear view of the functions and operations needed to adopt. The second step is analysis in which the information is transformed and shaped for next stages (Gitman & McDaniel, 2007). By conducting proper analysis, Tesco can determine the areas, which must be focused in order to formulate corporate strategies. It would make the vision of the organisation clear with proper strategic direction. The third step is strategy formulation in which the management of Tesco would create strategy depending on the goals determined and analysis done in previous stages. The resources present with the company and those that are required for achieving goals and targets are considered at the time of creating corporate strategy. This means that for formulating corporate strategy the two main processes that Tesco would adopt includes setting of goal and analysis.
