EDUCATION THE CATALYST TO MILLENNIUM DEVELOPMENT GOALS (MDG)
First of all what is millennium development goals? In my own definition or as I will like to put it, this are the activities or steps that have to be taken to eradicate and take down the worlds ' most pressing problems.
The first Millennium Development Goal I will like to talk about is the first one. Which is
1. ERADICATE EXTREME POVERTY AND HUNGER
First of all what is Poverty? According to Investopedia, Poverty is a state or condition in which a person or community lacks the financial resources and essentials to enjoy a minimum standard of life and well-being that 's considered acceptable in society. Poverty is mainly …show more content…

There are different definitions of "hunger" but the one most suitable for this context is; a craving or anurgent need for food or a specific nutrient , it is also an uneasy sensation caused by the lack of food. Hunger is one of the global challenges that takes millions of lives every year. Hunger is caused by quite a number of things such as illiteracy and most especially poverty.
Finally to eradicating extreme hunger and poverty, one must consider all the factors that make it extreme for a reason. These factors are that there are lazy people who don 't want to work, high rate of underdevelopment and the most important factor of them all the exceeding rate of illiteracy. As Joseph Wresinski said "Extreme poverty is the work of mankind and only mankind can destroy it.”.
The common negative catalyst between extreme poverty and hunger is illiteracy. In order to accomplish the eradication of these two catastrophic global calamities, eradicating illiteracy should be top priority. Therefore, education is the key to the eradication of extreme hunger and poverty. With education, one is able to know ways to solve problems and survive life on a daily basis, these problems are of course poverty and hunger.
