Motivation is very important to a company. Motivation is the processes that account for an individual’s intensity, direction, and persistence of effort toward attaining a goal. But, the level of motivation varies both between individuals and within individuals at different times. So, it is important for a company to motivate and maintain the motivation of employees in a high level in order to have a good job performance, high job satisfaction and high productivity. Maslow’s Need Hierarchy Theory is one of the famous motivation theories. The lowest level of hierarchy is physiological needs, in this level the needs for employees is salary, stable employment, food, and water. It means that the company should pay the salary to employees in order to let they fulfill their basic needs such as buy the groceries, pay the loan, transportation fee and so on. On the other hands, the company should not delay handing over the salary to employees. Once, the company is delayed to pay salary to employees, the employees will lose confident and trust to company as well as demotivate them which resulting in low job satisfaction, low motivation, poor job performance and others negative impacts. Esteem needs refer to the need for self-esteem and respect. Employees want to be respected and appreciated from others especially managers. As a manager, he or she can account for the esteem needs of employees by offering praise or rewards and recognition when the employee does well, and offering promotions opportunities and delegate additional responsibility to them in order to let them know they are a valued employee to company. The highest level of hierarchy is self-actualization needs. Self-actualization needs describe a person's need to reach his or her full potential. The need to become what one is capable of is something that is highly personal. As a manager, he or she can provide challenging work or task, inviting employees to participate in decision-making and also giving them flexibility and autonomy in their jobs in order to meet their self-actualization needs and motivated them to
