While my visit at SBUSD-Rex’s Academy I observed many different areas. I began with observing the setting of the classroom and noticed that the set up was well placed and adaptable for children at that age. I than began observing the children and their interaction with one another as well as the teacher and assistant’s interaction with them. I realized that each child had different needs that needed to be met and some children were ahead of others throughout the day. The strength in this classroom were that the children were all learning how to get along with one another and getting to spend time with other children that have different diversity’s and backgrounds. In the play house area different color baby dolls were in there and the children …show more content…
The school has a remarkable amount of support that makes the school what it is. The classroom setting was outstanding with the way the children work with on another despite their differences and personalities. The weakness that I noticed was a lack of seeing diversity throughout the campus and only in certain areas. The strength I seen was the unity within the students and how they develop care and affection for their peers and teacher’s campus wide.
Lastly, the visit at Del Rosa Christian School was awesome I loved everything about the school. This school is a faith-based school and shares Gods love for each of the children that are a part of the school. In the setting of a 3rd grade class it was awesome to see a lot of different ideas then a normal public school. The strength for this school and class I observed would be the environment, it was such an amazing atmosphere because each student was able to truly be themselves and show their true colors. A weakness for this school is a lack of different races being the face of the

The first site observed was only for toddlers which drew more attention on just them their environment and the way their day goes. The second site observed was a regular public school that had K-6 and was focused on the school as a whole and there were more areas to areas to be looked upon. Lastly, the faith-based school is obviously able to present Gods word and love and be open to having faith and sharing it with one another legally.
All in all, this project was fun an exciting to see different schools that have different standards yet similar standards of how the school is to be ran. I believe that each school was scored the way it was because of the people and what I mean by that is, the people make the place what it is and how it is going to be. Also, having different ages and grades have a huge impact on the school along with the

Steve ~ I went ahead and scheduled a seat for the Intercultural Competence Mod 3 for Dec 8 here in Portland. Mary returns on Dec 8 so she would be in the office to cover; however, her and I would have limited cross-talk that day If you want me to schedule for a later period let me know. The only other date on the schedule as of now is Dec 9 in Salem, which I could attend instead if you preferred.
While I was completing my field experience, I was working in the afterschool room every other Tuesday and Thursday. The grades of the twenty-six students ranged from first grade to fourth grade and there were more females than males in this class. My two mentors, Kelly and Brooke, were awesome, showing me how to keep up with these older children while also keeping peace within the chaotic classroom. While these children were from Watkinsville, they really were not from a low SES background, but there were many instances that the children would get into arguments and bring up someone else’s family
The main points of a school are a place where students can learn and feel safe. Students talk about our classes being too dull and not really a true environment to learn and with the new renovations I feel as if the students would feel like they finally have a place they feel comfortable to study and work at. The other main point is safety one of the most important things maybe not seen by students but valued by teachers and parents. One of the major disasters going throughout the country are school shootings.
1- What makes a good school? There is many ways a school can be good . Personally to me their are a few important traits that make a school good. One trait that makes a good school to me is giving students independence. Independence makes a good school because it shows kids to not depend on someone or something .
I learn that it is most important to focus on children when in the classroom. I relax in my work by clean up in this class. Always be available to support children and maintain an overview of what is happening throughout the program. I’m aware that I can’t leave children unsupervised and can be somewhere that have one of the teacher staff can supervise me and the group. I show initiative to assist the teacher and children during activities or transitions.
Every student may have a different aspect of life and school, but there is a mutual understanding between every student and staff. Regardless of what your age, race, gender, or ethnicity, the school makes every attempt to better everyone equally. I share this sentiment about the school to everyone in hopes that someday I can come back and teach on this campus. By becoming an instructor, I wish to inspire students like me to reach outside of themselves and pursuit their dream much like I am today. After my last semester, I will miss this community; taking only with me the thought that it saved me and changed my life for the better.
The first day I went there was a student crying and Mr.Mikalov pulled him outside to talk to him in private because some kids don’t like talking about their feelings in front of everybody. While the students were doing their work I had a chance to walk around the classroom, I saw at least five rules in big letters in the back of the room, which reminded me off Hary Wong and his teachings off rules and procedures. After the bell rings and they go to math. The teacher starts the lesson by asking the class what they know about the subject and go from there. The teacher asks the students to turn and talk to the person next to them about what they learned or explain it to someone who doesn’t understand it.
The cultural and historical heritage of Greece continues to oscillate throughout the modern western world in all the areas like literature, philosophy, art and politics. The independence of Greece was achieved from the Ottoman Empire in 1830. In the second half of the 19th Century and the first half of the 20th Century, the process for the addition of neighboring territories and islands was started. They were mostly merged with Greek-speaking populations. During World War II, first Italy invaded Greece in 1940 and afterwards it was occupied by Germany during the period of 1941-1944.
This essay will focus on to what extent is the concept of interculturalism different from multiculturalism. The focus will be primarily on what both terms actually stand for and how they are interpreted by society, while highlighting the differences between both terms and their polices. There will be examples of bad implementation of policies with reference to societies which show evidence of the clear disadvantages incorrect practice can bestow on an area. The focal point will also heavily weigh in on the benefits of interculturalism on feminism. ‘The term “multicultural” has come to define both a society that is particularly diverse, usually as a
The school’s ethos and shared vision state that every child should be given the opportunity to become the best person they can be. School A strives for children to become curious learners who are inspired by the school’s curriculum that caters to their individual needs. It is evident that the school encourages children to show respect for each other and establish a strong self-belief system. The school aims to:
We read about the Stumbling Blocks in Intercultural Communication by Laray M. Barna in class, and watched three videos that showed us of some real-life situations. The 6 stumbling blocks are the assumption of similarities, language difference, nonverbal misinterpretations, tendency to evaluate, stress and culture. The first video was a video that the man and their family were from different cultures, therefore their eating behaviors were different too. The baseball man thought the Japanese’s manner was to slurp when they eat soba. When the women tried to serve the man for some vegetables, he thought he did not need to take it because in the U.S, it is normal for people to serve themselves.
I felt that the children were very well behaved than most children. It was a bit shocking. All of them were extremely respectful of their teacher. I am excited to continue observing this class the next couple weeks. Being in an actual classroom makes me super excited for my
As a teacher, I believe that it is my job to make learning interesting and beneficial. Over the next school year, I would like to get to know each of your children as students and as individuals. Building a strong relationship with my students will allow me to help them with each of their unique needs and abilities. It is my goal to have my students’ think of the classroom as a place to learn and have positive experiences. Each student brings his or her own ideas and points of view to the classroom.
When we turn on the news what do we see? I see a world filled of hate, tragedy, and disruption that is barren of values, love, and understanding. Today’s world consists of turning on the TV and finding out that seventeen people were murdered and someone’s parent is about to be deported. We live in a world that focuses its attention on what is wrong, rather than what is right. People live in fear, as they do not know what tomorrow will bring because of instilled hatred of one another.
