To illustrate, facilitation means providing support to participants from different backgrounds and cultures, being attentive to those enrolled in the discussion and also those who have difficulties to get through, but their views and opinions are shared to enrich the dialogue. Another goal is to ensure the enhancement of active listening tools and questions, also, ensuring that all the views in class have space to be voiced and are treated respectfully and fairly, which is of a paramount importance. In order to lead this process successfully, as a facilitator, I must be self-aware and know my triggers, especially those moments when I have to be multi-partial. Facilitators lead the group process; that is to say, helping the group to improve the way they scrutinize, analyse and solve problems, and be more self-reflective. To reach this end, they should be multi-partial.
Additionally, I was able to lean on group members and lend support where needed. I felt secure knowing I could depend on them when I had little direction, and that gentle persuasion was reassuring. What I gained from this is to prepare myself for different scenarios in the classroom, and how I can use valuable tools like IBL to become skilled with knowing certain social policies and ways of approaching and utilising investigative techniques to come to a better understanding of clients I will eventually work with and help to guide in the future.

The key to being successful in life, I think, is figuring out who you are as a person. Just as you should know your own strengths and weaknesses, likes and dislikes, you should also know which learning style suits you best. Identifying your preferred learning style sets you up for success by enabling you to work, learn and live to your full potential. While we all have an instinctive preference, or dominant learning type, no one is completely kinesthetic or completely auditory; everyone uses a combination. Knowing how you learn is important as it can enhance your ability to study and retain information more efficiently, and also leave room for improvement in areas that are not your strong suit.
Other theories which underpins authentic assessment is Experiential Learning Theory by David Kolb and Situated Learning Theory which was theorized by Lave and Wenger. Experiential learning occurs by making sense of direct everyday experiences. Concrete experiences provide the information that serves as a basis for reflection. On the other hand, Situated Learning Theory is learning in the same contexts in which concepts and theories are applied. Research has shown that real-life applied activities and problem-solving activities establish a contextual setting for many lessons, providing motivation and encouraging curiosity.

The need to know refers to the understanding of knowing how and why to create a valuable lesson. Having feedback from reflection allows the learner to lean towards new learning and at the same time realize that learning never stops. A sense of autonomy refers to a functional need of a change in behaviour, developing a need for autonomy, structure for self growth, and self directed learning. The importance of life experiences and knowledge means that adults wants to apply their knowledge to what they do and to be acknowledged for it.
