3. Personality tests as the name suggests are conducted to measure the prospective employee’s motivation to function in a particular working condition.
When I took the Myers-Briggs Personality Test, my result was the description of ISTJs, Introverted Sensing Thinking Judging. From these results, ISTJs are inspectors with an acute awareness of what is right and wrong, especially when it relates to their interests or responsibility. This assessment does resemble my personality without a doubt. The ISTJs process a devotion to duty, and their motto is punctuality. I agree I have a dedication to duty and am a stickler for punctuality with the exception to reasonable cause.
As an ENTJ personality I am considered to be an extraverted, big picture thinker, who makes objective decisions and organizes work tasks to achieve maximum accomplishments (Kroeger, Thuesen, & Rutledge, 2002). The Personality Assessment Inventory (PAI) was designed by Leslie C. Morey in 1991 as an alternative for the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory revised (MMPI-2) to provide relevant information to make a clinical diagnosis, treatment planning, and screening for Axis I and Axis II psychopathology in patients 18 or older. However, the PAI does offer both child and adolescent versions in which a psychologist may utilize this assessment personality on these individuals known as the PIC for children and PAI-A for adolescents. Upon administrating the PAI for the adult population, an individual can expect a duration ranging between 40-50 minutes to complete the PAI and requires a comprehensive reading level between 4th and 6th grade. The PAI assesses abnormal personality consisting of 22 scales and 31 subscales in total which contains a 344 self-report Likert questionnaire scored with a 4-point ordinal scale. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator helped me learn more about myself as my role as a parent, employee, a boss, and a friend. I’m practical, traditional and organized. I have clear visions of the way I want things to be or how they should be, like to be in charge and value security and peace. EXTRAVERTED I am very opinioned person who like to be in authority. I have a better insight of what careers I am best suited for.
I’ve recently took the Jung Typology test, in which I believe that the questions I was asked were very remarkable. Also, the results gave me a clearer look of my personality. These kind of test can be very helpful, due to the fact that it can provide people information about their self’s in which they might not be consciously aware of. Well in my case, according to this particular examination; I’m considered an “ISFJ.” In other words, my preferences are being an introverted, sensing, feeling, and judging person.
