Poetry like other genres is used to convey the emotions, feelings and experience of life by people. It is a way of communication through an artistic manner in which individual is able to put across the emotions which are acutely felt and are unthinkable. This essay will unfold in three parts as to how poetry encourages readers to contribute in a artistic practice as well as bring out life experiences that are felt by those through experiences in life which are treatment of all the creation by god, the beauty and importance of nature in human life, the transformation of an individual. Firstly, it is very important to understand and recognize the God in the maker of all living beings, plants animals and mankind. All creatures, either big or small have a purpose and are of huge importance. In “The Rime of Ancient Mariner (1978) by Samuel Taylor Coleridge, the mariner intentionally shoots the albatross and it dies. The albatross had brought good weather and a southerly wind which helped in the voyage. The very next day after the albatross was killed the weather changes like a punishment has been shed upon the mariner. “Day after day, day after day , We stuck , nor breath nor motion ; As idle as a painted ship ,Upon a painted ocean. Water, water everywhere and all the boards did shrink; Water, water everywhere, Nor any drop to drink” (lines 113-120).
