There are many types of referencing but my respective course teacher suggested me to follow Harvard referencing style. Whenever I think about what I have learned since the beginning of this course—English 101, It always gives me a great pleasure to tell myself and people around me that I have learned something great; something that can make me a better writer. However, I have learned some writing skills based on the course’s teaching learning objectives that can help me in my future courses. Also, I’m glad, because my strength in writing essays have increased. Most especially, writing narrative essay in MLA formatting. I might not be an excellent writer, but I know I have not stopped learning, and I know I will get pay-off in the long run if I can keep the ongoing pace of my learning—guaranteed.
All of which helped tremendously with becoming a more precise writer and developing my identity as a writer. In the beginning of this course we worked with different readings that were intended to challenge us intellectully. Readings such as “To see your story clearly, start by pulling the wool over your own eyes” which is found the New York Times and “All Writing is Autobiography” by Donald M. Murray where readings that were meant to be challenging yet unfamiliar to us as well. This concept helped me greatly because it proved that I can be a flexible reader.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my thoughts, observations, and reflections on the academic writing that was presented within the Capella University writing course. The enclosed portfolio will provide additional detail to what I have learned throughout this course, and showcase my strengths and weaknesses. During the course, I have evolved within my writing due to the specific way this course compartmentalized each step of the writing process. For example, the first three units provided a way to analyze research on a specific topic and critique the data presented in the scholarly article. I have always felt that my research skills were good, however, the feedback received made me realize that I need to critique the studies more to be able to apply the results to my topic of interest.
Meaning what do these sources say and what does the writer want to say about these sources? For avoiding plagiarism use signal phrases to introduce source material or use quotes, making sure in-text citations are used appropriately. I recommend that students show the source than get specific and show a quote, than interpret the source? And why does this information provided prove what the writer is trying to prove.

Introduction In this reflective essay I will reflect upon the course based on the assignments and projects I have accomplished this semester. Recent research (Kornblith, 2012:3) identifies that reflection is an active process and making sense of the experience through the understanding of one’s actions.
