(A) Discussion and Analysis
1. Why this solar energy is important?
i. Solar Is Clean and Safe Source :Micro PC Systems (2017)
Solar is a safe alternative which can replace current fossil fuels like coal and gas for generation of electricity that produces air, water, and land pollution. Energy generated from the Solar Photovoltaic Panel (PV) is a clean source of energy as it only uses sunlight to produce electricity. Malaysia is a country that receives plenty of sunshine throughout the year, for example the Klang Valley area receives sunshine with an average rate of 3.5 hours a day. Hence, solar system applications are particularly suitable for generating electricity. A 4Kw-powered system can generate enough electricity for a large medium

First, is directly convert solar energy into electrical energy, such as alkali metal thermoelectric convention and semiconductor or metal materials and the temperature of power generation and so on. The second one is using the heat of the sun to process steam turbine or other heat engines to generate generators. Conventional thermal power generation has the same purpose, but the collapse of heat generated by heat generated is produced by solar energy not from the fuel. Although our country’s solar power technology is still in the development stage, but with the economic development seen that people needs have been able to see the effort of solar energy everywhere. Solar power technology will be with the economic development and human needs more mature, so in the future, we can see every household on the earth are enjoying the convenience of solar power technology but also with the power of the rich can be sold to the power company. When necessary solar power technology will be bought by the power …show more content…
The current total cost of megawatts of solar energy plans, the average cost per watt is 1.14 US dollars, "Bloomberg New Energy Finance" is expected to 2025, will drop to 0.73 US dollars, down 36%. Market unit estimates roughly in line with GTM Research is expected in the southwestern United States solar cost per watt installation cost of $ 1, 2021 will be reduced to $ 0.75; the US Department of Energy National Renewable Energy Laboratory is expected US average solar installation costs from the current $ 1.2 per watt. When 2010 will be reduced to 1 US dollars and the International Energy Agency is expected to install the grid-level solar energy program costs in the next five years will fall 25%; International Renewable Energy Association is expected by 2025, solar energy will cut prices by 43% to 65%. "Bloomberg New Energy Finance" said that less than 3 cents is to get the price is to change the market rules of the game key low and this price is more and more markets will become very common situation, the solar energy supply chain has been deeply appreciating the big scale. But in the trend, "Bloomberg New Energy Finance" is expected in 2025, the global average solar energy will be lower than coal-fired power generation so that solar energy is facing more competition for fossil fuels. Beat coal is only the first
Hydraulic fracturing accesses this better alternative to coal and thermal
Throughout the centuries, humans have been attempting to find a way to power homes, cars, and other luxuries in the most efficient way possible. Coal and oil were two major sources that begin being exploited during the industrial revolution. Both have caused great controversy over the years from lawsuits to strikes. A new way to drill oil, hydraulic fracturing, was discovered and was an efficient means of drilling until its effects became prevalent. Also, when coal began to run out, a new method called mountaintop removal took hold, but continues to damage the earth.
Due to more and more cities switching from fossil fuels to cleaner, more sustainable sources of energy, coal became less and less a part of each Americans daily life. For example, in 1966, one of John Lindsays major campaign ideas that got him elected mayor of New York City planned to eliminate the use of coal in the city. He did this by “, requiring reduction of the maximum sulfur content of coal and oil from its original level of 2.8% to 1% in three stages in five years.” These sanctions made it impossible for coal to be used as a fuel source, leading New York to leave coal in the past and look for other methods of energy. However, just because coal vanished from parts of America, does not mean it disappeared entirely.
How is coal formed? Hundreds of millions of years ago we had many trees, and other plant matter live near bodies of water and or swamps. After these trees and plants died over time were buried in the bottom of the lake or ocean, which built up many layers of dead plant material. Over millions of years drastic changes to the earths surface can cause the swamp to get flooded and buried.
Impacts of coal pollution on human health: Different type of harmful gas are releases during coal combustion: • Sulfur dioxide (SO2) which responsible for acid rain and respiratory illnesses • Nitrogen oxides (NOx) which contribute to smog and respiratory illnesses • Particulates which contribute to smog, haze, and respiratory illnesses and lung disease • Carbon dioxide (CO2) which is the primary greenhouse gas produced from the burning of fossil fuels (coal, oil, and natural gas) • Mercury and other heavy metals, which have been linked to both neurological and developmental damage in humans and other animals Coal pollution also contribute to global warming and the health implications .Coal pollutants affect all major body organ systems
One of them is burning coal. The encyclopedia defines coal as a solid fossil fuel formed from the remains of land plants that were buried 300-400 years ago and exposed to intense heat and pressure over those millions of years. It is burned in power plants to generate electricity. Data says that 44% of the United States electricity comes from burning coal. The National Mining Association reported that in 2009, 55.4 percent of Maryland’s electricity came from it.
The report anticipates with switching to other natural resources such as solar power, and their claimed efficiency improvements by the time we reach 2050, we would actually be out ahead of that $44 trillion. The cost of switching could be paid for in fuel savings from now to
This industry not only provides the populous with inexpensive power but also creates a steady employment option. Besides an increase in the greenhouse gas, carbon dioxide, the mass accumulation of coal ash and its leaks and spills into local rivers negatively affect the environment (“Energy-Related”). According to Earthjustice, “North Carolina generates over 5.5 million tons of ash per year” ("Coal Ash Contaminates”). In Eden, N.C. in 2014, the largest coal ash spill occurred, releasing 39,000 tons into the Dan River, which supplies drinking water to surrounding communities, a habitat for aquatic organisms, and recreational activities (Gallucci). Coal ash, also known as coal combustion residuals or CCRs, contains hazardous byproducts from power production, including arsenic, lead, mercury, and chromium, that can poison drinking water sources for humans and devastate wildlife habitats (“Coal Ash Basics”).
It is more expensive at the start but after you buy it it is free, so after a while you would have payed more total on gas then if you just bought a solar
You may think that solar energy isn’t enough but we can use it with other clean energy. It is a wise choice to use solar energy because solar energy is renewable and abundant, it is environmentally friendly, and it is also available around the world. Solar is the most abundant energy resource on Earth. In Taiwan, a three-story building with solar panels can produce three to four families’ electricity.
It may start off as a worthless chunk of earth, but when the conditions are right, the coal has the possibility of turning into a valuable
In recent years, the topic of saving the Earth from Humans has shown itself in many conversations amongst the people of the public. Saving the World will be an issue we must solve in the near future because we are causing a mass extinction for animals, and we are harming and killing humans, but we can resolve it by using technology to reduce global warming and setting aside reserves. The most important thing humans must do in regards to this topic is begin to educate themselves and others on how drastic we must be in regards to it. The first major issue that must be made clear is the great peril animals are in, and what this means for the planet and humans.
Scientists have found that renewable energy is a path towards the future for a clean and safe environment. Throughout all the studies and findings, there is a continuing fret whether people should be able to use a traditional way of energy or renewable energy, solar power. Solar energy is seen to be effective since there has progressively been more places that are benefiting from solar usage; however there are also some who disagree. Solar energy sources are derived from natural sources and is implicated throughout our daily lives. From the lights in the streets to the computers we use at home.
wind energy and solar energy are both renewable types of energy they create no pollution and are fully sustainable as they are both powered by natural sources and if there is no wind one day the solar panels can generate energy and if it 's cloudy another day the windmills can generate energy also the energy created during the summer can be sold to the grid for extra capital that can be used for field trips, renovations, etc. Geothermal heating systems are rated the most efficient and eco-friendly heating systems. The system works using buried coils that contain a liquid, typically a mix of water and antifreeze. The liquid is warmed to the same temperature as the earth and then runs through to the home where a compressor extracts the heat but not only that geothermal heating requires no fossil fuels so it is very eco-friendly LED lighting is an efficient and eco friendly lighting alternative because they waste much less energy in converting to light compare to incandescent lights which waste 90% of the energy to convert to heat not only that LED lights last up to 15-25 times longer that traditional light bulbs this makes LED a much better source of lights than others because it wastes less energy and it is more efficient at doing its job this is so much better for the environment because it uses less energy that other lighting sources
Sustainable development, as its name suggests, is a concept continually elaborating. The most commonly used definition, according to World Commission on Environment and Development (WCED), is the development which “meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs” (WCED, 1987). It shows the importance of considering benefits for both current and future generations and strongly supports economic development, while it also implies when accessing environment and natural resources, human beings tend to take an anthropocentric view, that the primary goal is to satisfy human needs. With no regard for earth as a life-support system, a development will not be considered sustainable. Therefore, by taking economic, social, environmental issues into accounts is a key approach to develop sustainably in different contexts.
