Summer Vacation I stayed in Bangkok for the whole summer in order to focus on my study. I went to English academy every day. This summer vacation was the worst vacation I have ever had in my life. However, I learned many things from this summer vacation such as English, how hard it is to live on my own, and how I need to keep my motivation for study. I did not travel to other countries as other my friends did, however, this summer taught me great things in order to live. The main thing I learned this summer is English. I stayed in Thailand to focus on studying for SAT. I studied English in an academy called Genii. This academy is for Japanese students and they teach Eiken, TOEFL, SAT, IELTS, and TOEIC. I attend this academy since …show more content…
I was studying for SAT every day. On the other hand, my friends were enjoying summer vacation by traveling to other countries, going to summer festivals, meeting with friends who are in Japan. Then I thought I also want to enjoy summer vacation like my friends, and I didn’t want to study anymore. I tried to release stresses and I played with Makito, Rino, Hinako, Yuta, Kori, Ryosuke, Mikuru, Haruki, and Kengo who are friends from the academy. We went Ekamai Major for playing bowl games after finishing the class. I really enjoyed playing bowl games and I succeeded to release stresses. From that day, I could keep my motivation for study and focused on SAT by playing and moving my bodied with my friends. If I felt tired, I invited my friends to watch movies, play sports, and play videogames and released stresses from studying. From this experience, I learned two things which are importance of friends and stress release in order to maintain motivation. If I didn’t have friends to play, probably I gave up studying SAT in summer and I was getting through unavailing days. I lose motivation if I keep doing the same thing -in this case was study- every day. If I meet a situation that I need to keep doing boring things for ling time in the future, I am going to make rest day and release stresses by playing with my friends. Having friends are beneficial for not only I can have fun with them, but also I can maintain my motivation for
According to TeacherHUB.com, two million children are attending year-round schools. Would the United States fully adopting a year-round schedule benefit the school systems? Switching to a year-round school schedule is highly debated in the United States. Some states and counties have adopted the year-round school schedule in hopes to “avoid the dreaded ‘brain drain’ that students experience during summer vacation”, increasing test scores, and all-around student wellness (Chen 2). Most students would not like a year-round schedule because students already do not like a traditional ten month schedule.
Did you know that there is still a modern form of slavery? For example. there are horrible prison camps in North Korea. One of these camps is called Camp 14. These prison camps are much like what slavery was like in the antebellum South.
As modern Americans think about how lucky we are in some situations and problems. Because for some people, there is or was not any such as luck or escape from the situations and problems like we have today. In the antebellum South and a prison camp Camp 14 in North Korea, their lives are different and hard. In addition, they all lived in the conditions that threaten, oppress, and brainwash them. For them, they don’t have any choice for education and freedom.
1. Saturday, December 1941: There is a tremendous amount of people in Long Beach. There are about twenty to twenty-five boats getting ready to leave, including Papa’s “The Nereid” boat, to take off for the fishing season. It is a beautiful day with clear skies. All the fishermen were preparing for the long journey, which was unpredicted for how long.
Freedom Summer, or the Mississippi Summer Project, was a volunteer campaign launched in June 1964 to attempt to register as many African-American voters as possible in Mississippi, which had historically excluded most blacks from voting. The project also set up dozens of Freedom Schools throughout Mississippi to aid the local black population. The projects leadership and funding came from the SNCC and COFO, along with hundreds of white college students in the north. In 1963, the SNCC organized a mock vote for blacks, which gave them a chance to prove they were capable of understanding politics. The civil rights activists from both organizations and the white volunteers from the north faced many challenges during the campaign.
The freedom summer, also known as the Mississippi Summer project, was the nonviolent attempt for a voter registration drive organized by a series of civil rights organizations, those including Congress on Racial Equality (CORE), the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). This historical event took place in Mississippi in the summer of 1964. The main focus of this project was, as mention earlier, the voter registration drive, which intended to gather as many colored Mississippians to join the electoral register. But as suspected, may of this registration were denied by the officials, which was a callous act of injustice. As a result, the organizers formed
Illiana Christian High School has been providing students with a Christ-centered education for a long time. In fact, students that currently attend Illiana have grandparents that also attended Illiana. Over time, Illiana Christian High School has changed in many ways. At the same time, Illiana has stayed the same throughout the years. Illiana’s building, classes, and dress code are very different from the early 70’s, but its discipline policies and after school activities are still very similar.
Everyone must have been through a significant change in one point of their life. The significant change that I been through was in my early age. During those few years attending to Atlantic Middle School, I survived from cultural differences and language barriers. When I was fourteen years old I traveled by myself from my home in Fuzhou (a city in southern China) to Boston, Massachusetts to reunite with my family, who had been living in the United States for the past eight years.
That is exactly how I feel all summer long. Shorter summer breaks will help the whole “boredom issue” and allow students to be around others and be more social. With this deal, I will never say “I’m bored” again! Staying busy and having something to do gives me less time to overthink about things and enjoy life
I learned how to be a great swimmer, I learned some phrases in German and Italian, and I also grew relationships with my long distance family members. It may not have seemed apparent to me the moment it happened, but my first two hours in a different country played the biggest affect on me as a person. A vacation that was intended to be fun for me ended up being so much more than that, this vacation opened my eyes to all of the other people, places, and things in this world. In two hours that could go by as the seemingly most unimportant time of the trip, I was able to mature and flourish more than I ever have in my
The Campus Activity Board usually sponsors and puts together bingo on the last Thursday of every month. On the night of October 26th from eight o’clock to nine o’clock they had bingo in the cafeteria as usual, and the big prize that night was an apple watch. I have not won anything so far in bingo, and that night was no exception. I was, however, one of the first three people standing for blackout bingo when we were trying to win the grand prize, and that was pretty cool. I did not think that bingo would be such a big event here on campus
Persavsive Paragragh I think Grandview R2 Middle School should have recess. Recess would provide more phyisical activities and exersize for kids, also i think recess provides free time for kids to get away from work for a little bit. The normal time to have recess would be after lunch to let energy befor comming back to class. Also i think recess is a time for kids to let out stress from work that has been put on them. Recess help kids stay active and healthy also it would help kids not sleep in class while doing his or her work.
Why do you want to be considered for an Honors class? Next year will be my freshman year at Dimond High School. To me, high school is a one chance kind of opportunity. No room for mistakes and you can’t go back.
Summer 2015 Have you ever had a great summer day? Well I have! A typical July day in my life sounds pretty boring, but just the fact that there is no school makes it exciting. I ate amazing things in the morning, at lunch, and during dinner. On a average summer day I would wake up around eight thirty my cat meowing at my door saying “Give me my breakfast.”
Students are very likely to experience some or many stressors which may test their ability to cope: adapting to a new environment, balancing a heavy work load, making new friends, becoming more independent, and dealing with myriad of other issues. Looking from a closer perspective, the college students’ encounters a number of challenges in his day to day life, therefore the whole idea of an existing and vibrant college life is unveiled by these challenges which in turn contribute to
