The person in charge of the head position holds their title until death or abdication. Monarchs were usually chosen through bloodline, like being related, usually the son or daughter, of the previous monarch like the king. Just because you were part of royalty doesn’t mean you did nothing, everybody had a job. When the king wasn’t throwing big parties, eating feasts, and living in a palace enjoying life his tasks were the hardest out of everybody in the royalty class. A king’s first role was keeping the peace; happy people meant a striving kingdom.
From the beginning, having the Shah in was a totally unwise decision because it will reflect a negative image to the new Iranian government. Not only that, also they were in a revolutionary situation where all people are radicalized. This crisis was of the nastiest crises to the American people because it affected them directly and affected public opinion in the United States for 444 days. Correspondingly, I believe that it’s Carter’s baggiest failure and if it didn’t happen or it was managed differently, I would probably have a different opinion on his foreign policy. What is worse than the problem itself is the way he interacted with it.
This meant that Adams had to make many major decisions in regards to the nation’s commerce and defense. “Some extreme Federalists were ready for a fight, but President Adams disappointed them, refusing to press war against Virginia or France (Florence).” His decision angered many
Out of the three that are listed here I think that his part in the American Revolution was the most important. Without him we wouldn’t have a leader, nor would we have continued to fight on. This was the first step to our new nation and without him we would have given up/still be under British rule. People like Washington have given people a voice and has motivated them throughout the years. He had kept our hopes up whenever we felt the need to give up and because of his role/actions we are our own
Congress fought hard to limit the amount of non-Anglo-Saxons entering the country during this time, and racism, particularly that that was anti-black, was a prominent problem during the twenties. All these factors lead back to Zinn’s underlying point being that, during this time leading into the Great Depression, true unity was greatly difficult to attain and white supremacy was a violent force that was quickly spreading across the
The government of Gilead is oppressive. Government oppression is another element commonly found in dystopian literature. Offred is constantly being watched by many government officials such as: The Angels, The Aunts and The Eyes. These officials were meant to be feared. Offred said, “The Angels…were objects of fear to us, but of something else as well.”
President George Washington What makes a president great? A great President shows what they want for America, and what they want to do to make America better. Everyone wants different presidents and will not agree with other people's beliefs.
He chose very carefully in an effort to unite the party. His cabinet included many of his main rivals that he had defeated to become the Republican Party and nominee for president. As commander in chief, Lincoln knew he had a heavy responsibility and a lot of power. He would have to use patience and statesmanship when using his power to ensure his vision was achieved. Lincoln also had to ensure that foreign countries did not come to the aid of the south during the Civil War and the effort to free the slaves.
That's the President we need and also a President who can give out warnings to us. Like when there is a big emergency and nobody knows it we aren't just going to stand there and pretend like nothing bad is going to happen. Our next President Will give us warnings even if it's late or early or in the last minute but he/she will tell us. We also need a President who we can feel safe around that actually cares for us who wouldn't choose money over all of us. A President who can show us that we can live in peace and not have to worry about “ohh he's racist” or “he only cares about the money and not us”.
Even today Alexander Hamilton is remembered as a great person who would do anything for his country. Alexander made a difference in the world by helping America not go broke after all of their debts. He is certainly a hero because ohis courage as a soldier and a Secretary of treasure. Perhaps if people were more like Alexander Hamilton the world would be a better place to live
The president’s closest advisors work with him in the Executive Office. The president’s main advisory body is his Cabinet – which he appoints – but the White House Office and the Bureau of Budget also have an important part to play in supporting the president. The 1930’s and 1940’s witnessed a great growth in Federal bureaucracy. From this time, unelected officials from this bureaucracy have proved on occasions to be in competition with the president.
This leads to more problems like airports making bag checks more stricts or require a full body search for everyone which causes many people to become angry. Another big issue with the possible return of cold war tensions with russia is nuclear weapons. NATO does a good job in
It was a very emotion driven war, because the US were only fighting to preserve democracy. The US government wanted to prove to the Soviet Union that democracy wasn’t a dying government. The casualty toll was massive. Soldiers struggled to tell civilians and enemies apart, leading to such a high amount of deaths. 58,000 Americans died during the war, and even more civilian casualties.
Under the guise of calling for patriotism and support of the troops, presidents have managed to put top down pressure on the population with some success. Usually in these extreme situations the president can get Congress to pretty much fall in line and approve almost anything that looks reasonable. They can also do a lot in secret using "National Security" as a cover. This tactic also worked quite successfully for GWB after 9/11. In WWII and the Civil War eventually the "good guys" won and things pretty much went back to normal, though there was fallout.
